Domestics suck

Since theres a "civics suck" thread...lets see if the Muscle heads can defend themselves on this one

Elaborate....

R/T kota 02-13-2007 05:01 PM

Well since the other thread was civics suck and not imports suck, why dont you narrow this one down to a certain domestic model.
Pick you model and elaborate on why it sucks.

Note I did not take part in the civic sucks thread. Feel no need to put down some one else`s car.

Charlie_Chaos 02-14-2007 12:16 AM

Dodge marketing: 4 Door sedan.... Hmmmm... yeah, lets name it after a Muscle Car .....Yeah and put a Hemi in a few. We'll throw in a low grade Transmission. Wonderful.

I am not much of a fan.

I'd rather pay the same price (if only) for a '69 Charger R/T .

95ProbeGT_Cory 02-14-2007 07:26 AM

Well this thread is legendary.

I would like to thank the original poster for bringing up this amazingly important topic.

I like the car but it has too many doors to be called a charger.
Dodge should have called it a coronet or something like that.

WTF is a tyranny? I don't care if that thing has a mercedes, bmw, vw, whatever tranny in it. It's still a dodge car, from the company that perfected the disposable tranny. And before you get all defensive, I've owned a Grand Voyager. Briefly.

Young gun 02-14-2007 01:05 PM

They also sold more turbo cars than any other make?

Honda finally learned what a turbo is.... and they put it in their SUV....

Dodge isnt the greatest make out there but ppl still respect the SRT-10, the SRT-8 (runs 13s all day on that 4 door) and the SRT-4, which also runs 13s. SO yea their cars might suck but their engines are proper.

This has got to be the #1 Domestic Fan-boy statement of the past few years. "Blah blah blah it's a 4 door!". As for the bastardization of the name... who cares, the newer car brakes faster, turns better, is just as fast, and gets more then 10mpg. And have you ever heard of a Charger even having transmission problems or is that some BS you thought up because you think its right? From the flex-plate back, it's all Mercedes. I doubt Mercedes makes bad transmissions.

You should give your head a shake, and then explain how that torqueless Honda in the picture is faster then your V8 Charger through the 1/4 mile.

Sorry,
I thought it was a civic...

By the way...
What happens after his 1/4 mile runs out...Charger R/T 1/8 Mile MPH: 77.560/ Honda S2000 1/8 Mile MPH: 80.310

Three seconds, ouch!!

Rummy 02-14-2007 03:31 PM

:booty: you say the srt8 or srt4 runs 13's all day but. a civic can run 13's all day without the extra 4 pistons, or without the forced induction system, in order for a domestic to run 13's its either gatta have 4 extra pistons or a turbo/s,c

Young gun 02-14-2007 03:38 PM

ARE YOU A DUMB , those cars all run 13s stock, none of ur fukin hondas can do that

Rummy 02-14-2007 03:43 PM

i said a civic hb with a swap ... say a k20 stock engine can run 13's

Young gun 02-14-2007 03:46 PM

Yes it can, but thats a hatchback with about 8 grand put into it for the k20 and the bolt ons. My point was that no import company that i can think of has more than 4 car models running 13s stock...

And in order for a Civic to run 13's (or 14's which most of them actually run in street trim), you "gatta" swap the engine for one that, a) typically costs 2x more then what the car it's being installed in is actually worth, and b) is usually stolen. So you tell me what's better, turbocharging/supercharging an existing engine, or having to replace everything in the engine bay.

You know what, don't reply to this. Thinking doesn't really seem to be a skill you posess, so I don't really want to trouble you.

By the way, you know what classifies as a domestic? The C6 Corvette Z06. Show me ANY japanese car currently on the market that can even come close to touching that car in the 1/4 AND on the race track.

Unless it is of the SRT variety, which, in bone stock form, will run 13 seconds.

OR, the new 'Vette Z06.

Slap some DR's on her and run low 11s all day.
