Yeah, just waiting on my plenum for the 2l 16v. If the quad carb setup doesn't work, I'm just going to use a pair of Delorto 45's. Everything else is ready to go, suspension is done, front sway bar pulled, rear beam boxed, running 205/50/15 Falkens, with apex springs for now. Still deabting on a set of Sofsports, but the 2.5" drop is growing on me. Other than that, the car is staying stock, I've got a Zender 3 peice Rabbit spoiler, but haven't put it on yet. Not really sure I want to drill 7 holes in a mint 83 GTI.

im still suprised you aren't running konis or other adjustable struts... isn't stock struts going to be a bit under dampened?

When you're ready to come out and race, then you can talk . Until then, go back to high school with your 4000 lb POS.

I have to use a little math on this one. This is using a horsepower calculator found on the internet. Before any HUGE flack is given about this calculator, I don't agree with their accuracy either, but here's the findings.

According to GM's website, the z06 weighs 3130 pounds without driver.
Adding the numbers of 129.5 mph and using the calculator

It comes to 532 whp and 627 crank hp.

Either the z06 is underrated power-wise (by about 120 hp) or that car isn't stock.

That car is wicked fast whether it's stock of not

Lingenfelter Corvette Z06 | evo Car Reviews | Car Reviews | evo

a modded z06 in the UK could only go 125mph in the 1/4 and thats with a claimed 616hp, that only dynoed at 552 (they convert it to engine horsepower not whp iirc)

wow...

k, so my friend got a new dodge calibur a week ago. he starts it up yesterday, it wont turn over. he tries a couple times after, and it works. then, he puts it in drive, it stalls (automatic). then, later on, he put it in drive, and it started going backwards a bit wtf

not impressed. he's going back to the dealer this week

There is a huge misconception about American cars from years ago. The quality is not there, they suck, whatever. Maybe it used to be so, but the North American car makers have stepped it up, simply because they HAD to. I can only speak for the last 2 cars I've had/have. Both American and both were/ARE great. I had a 2000 trans am, which by the way was made in Quebec CANADA. No problems other then regular maintenance in all 152 000kms that I had it. 300+ hp and equal torque, low 13 sec 1/4 mile BONE stock, and good gas mileage. Loved that car.

Sold that and now have a 2006 C6 'vette. True, only 13,000kms on it, but flawless, its a GREAT car and beats cars worth almost double its price. And its even AMAZING on gas, believe it or not!

True, there may be some American cars not on par with Japanese/european competitors, but you cannot blanket statement that ALL domestics suck, thats just ignorance.

And I'll take rear wheel drive over front any day!

take the s2000 for example....it could probably beat most domestics stock...240hp out of a n/a 4 cylinder...thats over 100hp per liter...you dont see many 5.0L muscle cars with 500hp!! if honda was to make a v8...watch out!

And plus...how long do cavies and sunfires last? its like their computers are programmed to self destruct at 200,00km!!! My buddy has a 92 civic with almost 600,000 original kms on it, and it still squacks 2nd second gear!!! wooooh!!

Who cares how much HP per litre you are making. Its the total amount of HP and torque that counts.
HP per litre dont mean when you only have a little engine.
Just because you are making 100 hp per litre dosnt mean you have more hp than the guys with the V8s.
Defiantly dont have the torque the V8s have.
