Engine swaps

OK, so I have seen some crazy motors put into the smallest and sometimes stupidest things, but just wondering if anyone has done a really bad ass engine swap?

some of the stuff I've seen include:

Type R in Austin Mini
http://www.gomini.com/fs/vtec/vtec.htm

H22 into rear of a GSR teg
http://www.gomini.com/fs/vtec/vtec.htm (scroll down for pics)

so any other bad ass stuff out there?
(non honda stuff very welcome, sorry, thats just what you here about when you work at Honda)

rabbitman 02-04-2006 09:42 PM

I'm still trying to track down some pics, but Performance VW had a Rabbit with a twin turbo VR6 swapped in, mid engine, RWD featured a while back. BTW this should be in engine tech.

SuprAdam 02-04-2006 11:45 PM

1995 Twin T66, LS1 powered Intrepid :appl:

Supra engine in a AE86 Corolla. It wasn't EXTREME, but I thought it was neat.

Mustang 302 in a miata is a nice swap. Doesn't cost crazy money either if you find a miata with a blown engine. Run's 12's stock with good driver and only adds 200lbs to the car when it's finished, so it can either be a monster on the 1320 or an awesome track car. www.v8miata.com

Honda Tech 02-11-2006 02:40 PM

HOLY CRAZY MIATA!!!!! but I like the phrase on that page.

"Mad Engineering Where Too Much Horsepower Is Not Enough!"

K20_teg 02-13-2006 04:02 AM

nope...not really
no engine swap into any honda/acura is badass
more like as common as grass in rural areas...or sand in the desert

Whereas engine swaps with J-bodies are so rare because their owners are usually dumb ricers who inherited the car from their parents, and don't know how to drive a manual transmission car properly, let alone change an engine.

I dislike how common Honda swaps are just as much as the next guy, but I can appreciate how good the B-series and K-series engines are and why so many people want to swap one into their car. If you disagree and say these engines are crap, then we'll know that you obviously have never driven a car powered by one.

original post was "i dont know if this is badass or not"

thats my response and im sticking to my answer...

and about that first comment, that shows your ignorance about what people actually do to their cars, specifically j bodies. just because there ****ing woodbridge ricers dont do , or know for that matter, doesnt mean that it doesnt happen. there are swaps for all 3 gen of j's, and i know of a bit in the gta aswell. i suppose your fiesta sees engine swaps all the time.

B6T 02-13-2006 01:05 PM

I don't have a Fiesta...

dj_jake 02-13-2006 04:49 PM

hey stealth, what have you swapped into your cavalier?

other than a new deck? thats right, nothing. so dont chime into threads concerning topics you have no knowledge in.

lmao, who the **** do yuo think you are? really...who?

have you done every little ****ing thing in the world that you know everything about everything. just because i havent done an engine swap (waste of money for pretty much every car, if u wanted the engine, u should have bought the car) doesnt mean i have no knowledge of how and what kinds there are to do.

you people are really ****ing unbelievable. i love how so much of you talk so much like you guys know everything and try to prove everyone. to all of you: get over yourselves. and **** you.

dj_jake 02-13-2006 06:46 PM

ive done more than lower a jbody and install a new deck, ill tell you that.

waste of money? what are you on crack? classic point of you talking out of your ****in ASS about a subject you know nothing about. cars with a certain engine will fetch a huge premium. you can get the same performance, but for significantly less by putting the same motor into a different chassis. this isnt a new concept.

YOU DRIVE A HEAP OF CAVALIER THAT RUNS 16'S AND GOES DOOR TO DOOR WITH MOST ECONOMY CARS IN ITS CLASS. WHY THE FCUK DID YOU COME ONTO A STREET RACING FORUM IN THE FIRST PLACE? WHEN THE ONLY THING YOU RACE IS YOUR MOUTH? GO DRIVE THAT JUNK OFF A CLIFF WITH YOU IN IT.

Premium Dude 02-13-2006 07:01 PM

Your an idiot.
Its not a waste to do swaps. Consider this. Take a lightweight EF hatch. Swap in a k20. You have spent a total of $10,000. Other option. Buy an RSX. $20,000, or whatever the **** they cost. And its a heavier platform.
Super analytical skill shithead.

Which brings us back to...

So by that logic, all these guys swapping in SBC/BBC's into their camaros/older corvettes or anyone that replaces the 302 in a mustang with anything larger/better is wasting their time and is stupid. Or anyone that builds a 3 rotor 20B FC, 2jz mk3, ect. ect.

You are right dude, you are far more knowledgable than anyone else on this forum. :fing02:

StealthZ 02-13-2006 08:18 PM

i didnt mean for every car out there, just most on this forum. everyone boasts about their civics, yet they dont have civic engines anymore, type r suspension off an itr, type r dash...what exactly is the car considered now? oh ya, stupid me, a honda civtegra type r :retard:

now matter how cool swapping that b18b in your ef or ek or eg or blah blah blah is, its really not.

you guys are quite sad, guess the cool thing around here to to try and prove me wrong on here...bunch of fags, go outside and get a life.
