Forbes Richest American's
Forbes just released it's 400 richest American's list. Now you have to be at least a billionaire to be on the top 400 just in America and there are quite of few billionaires that didn't make it.
Bill Gates is nine billion dollars richer this year up to $59,000,000,000.00.
The two creators of Google.com now have over 18 billion dollars each.
The only plus size is for the first time since the 1980's the Walton's aren't in the top ten.

Yeah but at least the self-made people are taking over more and more over the the "old money" families that are rich simply because they were born into it.
When you look at the list you also need to remember that those numbers aren't the amount of money they have sitting in their checking account. It includes all their assests, stocks, etc... So to have that money they would have to sell everything they own basicly.
If I was as rich as some of those people I would just live off the intrest from all that money.

I would be interested to see why the avg wage is of some of those people employees, and what kind of benefits they get. Like if the owner of my company made 1 billion dollars, I would think it's pretty poor if my health insurance went up every year.
I don't have a problem with filthy rich people, so long as they treat the people who helped them get there well.

Well I work for some of the people that are on the Forbe's list myself.
I work for Johnson which is obviously owned by the Johnson family. According to Forbes when Sam Johnson died in 2004 he was worth 7.4 billion.
Lucky for me they really take care of their people and Johnson is always in the top ten best places to work by fortune magazine and CNN. Plus the Johnson family are the sole owners of the company so they can do whatever they want without having to impresse stock holders and such.
