I hate going to funerals/viewings. So morbid. I know when I die, I'm not having either. (just got back from my 20 year old cousin's - died of leukemia, basically). My dad bailed and left me there to get a ride home with another relative because he hates funerals, and it was on my mother's side of the family(they are divorced), so he left me. I just hate funerals. Plus, everyone thinks I'm strange cause I'm female and don't cry like everyone else in the place.

so-so. I hadn't seen him for many, many years, because my Uncle was a career Marine, and they were always far away. They had moved back here sometime in ' 04 when my uncle retired, can't remember exactly. He used to try to get me to let him drive my car. I just feel bad for my uncle mostly.

Sorry to hear about the death but I agree with you. I've told everyone in my family when I die do whatever is the cheapest. If that means burning my body in the backyard or throwing it into lake Michigan I really don't care. The only thing I care about is people not spending a lot of money on something that isn't needed.
That and I'll never understand the whole open casket thing. My wife's grandmother died and I had to go to the funeral and they had an open casket. Like I really want to see a dead body.

Yeah, I find the open casket thing very morbid. Especially how everyone stands up there and just stares the the body.

funerals suck, I don't understand the people who stand there talking about how nice the person looks, they're f***ing dead they look dead now move on (btw I too am sorry for your loss)

Im truely sorry for your loss. And I know how uncomfortable that feels. I will personally have a funeral for myself, but only so I can have half of my assets willed to some pre-arranged movie star on the pretense he shows up to my funeral, crys, and leaves.

How would you like your mother standing there crying over your casket at the funeral, and saying ... "Oh my god, I cant believe hes ... hes... is that Michael Bolton?... is he crying?... did he know Michael Bolton?"



But on a serious note again, I am deeply sorry, and im sure even as a person you did not know all that well, he will be missed by those who loved him.

I am preety sure alot of my family thinks I am a piece of ****. I never went to my grand parents funerals because I just cant stand going and hate it soomuch. I hate them because I know everyone will be crying. I allways feel awkward because I am never the one crying and I show no emotions while everyone else is crying so I feel like a piece of **** for not crying basically since I think they want me to or something so I never go. I donno im a ******* but anywaqy funerals blow.. and open caskets are ******* wierd its very very odd and I feel uncomfertale looking at a dead person.

sorry to hear Danielle, funerals do suck though, when i die im with chad whatever is cheepest. all that fancy jazz is stupid to me.

My gramma died few years back and ididnt cry everyone in my moms side the family thought i was weird. ohh well i guess.
