Turns out, they put an automagic ECU into 6speed car at the factory.
2000 GM built vehicle, transmission grenaded at 90000km's
2000 GM built vehicle again, at 84000km's, transmission is grinding and chattering.
All vehicles from my household. Only reason for buying the GM vehicles was because my grandfather worked for GM. Don't even want to imagine the build quality on some of these other cars people get from them....

I guess BMW is haveing the exact issues with their transmissions. Because they use GM hyrdramatic/getrag trani's. What your spouting isint a common issue. You should enlighten as to what GM cars you claimed all you canc ome up with is " 2000 GM VEHICLE". Also this warrenty is covering new cars not 2000 models there have been many changes since then. Evev magazines are starting to praise GM.
Speak of the massive transmission problems and poor build quality toyota is having with their new avalon: Yup even the mighty toyoda is starting to slip

G6, sunflower, alero, saffari
Funny my "yoda" trans which is older and had more milleage then all four GM cars never had problems (when the car was running). It also had to endure a hell of a lot more brutal clutch dumps and torque.

all of our 2003 savanas have vortec/4l60es and have 170,000-200,000kms on original drive train. There was a recall for somthing in the front end but that was it.
