I consider myslef cute and know about cars. I can tell long lectures about cars and other interesting stuf. And yes, there are nice looking huys in trades (just look at the annual FireFighter calendar).

"The Media" exists to capture your interest for JUST long enough to try and sell you stuff you don't need.
Who cares what stereotype it promotes? Car culture hasn't changed at all, it's still full of lots of single guys who are nice and will teach you lots of things.
Ya there are the guys who are just about image, and the girls who just want other guys/girls to WISH they could bang them, but that's how it is in any scene. It's not the rule, it's the exception that is more interesting to put in bad movies starring Paul Walker.
