How to buy a car

Hey guys my name is Sami im 19 and im buying my first car. I really need some help

i know this is a newbie question so i was wondering if you could help me with this dilemma.

I am buying my first car at the end of this month and im looking at a 04 Civic LX. I like the car and the asking price is $7995 at a private dealer (not honda lol)

so i know that dealers drop their prices when you offer them cash and i have about 7000 saved up, do you guys have any experience where the dealer would sell at 7 for cash?

and what other fees/taxes do i have to pay on top of the 7G? I heard about this scam where if you tell the dealer or whoever your buying it from to list it as sold for lower then what you pay him he saves tax and so do you. Is that true? any inputs would be greatly appreciated

thnks
hope to see you guys at the meets this summer

Dealer won't drop their price to help you save on taxes, maybe private individual, but not car dealers for sure.

You pay 1 tax for the car and they won't care how you pay them either CASH, Bank Draft....
you have to pay the fee to plate the car, check mto web site.

And quote and valid your insurance before drive out the car from dealer.

"I heard about this scam where if you tell the dealer or whoever your buying it from to list it as sold for lower then what you pay him he saves tax and so do you. Is that true?"- Its true but only on Private sales, and then the lowest price is listed on the used buyers package(so you pay tax on that and not the actual price). At the dealer you pay both PST and GST for the selling price. On private sales you only pay 1 tax. The dealer wont give you a deal but a private seller might.
Good Luck look for rust on the 04-05's as they are starting to get rust from what im seeing.
