How can VTEC not have lag? What RPM does it kick in it?
I had a '99 SiR with a few NA mods (I know, WTF was I thinking?) and once it hit 5,300 RPM it was an entirely different car- still slow, but less slow.

What do you mean "what does it matter if it's NA or not?" Small displacement engines, such as the ones found in Honda's, are hard to make fast NA because it's hard to make power. Hence why I was asking you. I'm led to believe that you don't actually work with cars if that mystifies you...

ar790 man no offence but a boosted single cam vtec with vitara pistons a tuner toy rods on lets say 13 psi would do high 12's and the cost is roughly less then 2000$ and think the price of an mr2 like urs u can buy a k20 swapped eg...that would kill and run 12's with minor bolt 0ns and hence my point but thaks for trying..
