i just have to rant...
this is a long one and has a lot of details...so bear with me.
the shop ive been working at has been paying me 250 per week to work 31 hours per week.
well now that the spring semester has begun ive been going to school at night, so now im working 49 hours a week. well i practically had to beg for more money, and i only got 50 more a week.
well now theyre putting us on payroll, so im only taking home around 220 a week.
i work more and get payed less. wtf. here are my options...
keep my current job because it does offer opportunity, although i asked to work as a commissioned mechanic and he said no so i really dont see any opportunity for awhile.
try to work somewhere else, like big o tires where they do a lot of simple things like oil changes, tune ups, tires, etc. busting tires all day would kill me though. but i'd probably make more money. my friend takes home 650 biweekly.
i could also work at jiffy lube. its even simpler stuff, but i know a few managers of some local jiffy lubes and if i wanted i could easily get a job at one but not really as many hours as i do now.
autozone is hiring, and i know a few managers so i might be able to work there too, and i hear they make about 8 an hour. this job also gives me the option to work late nights on weekends so i could have some weekdays completely off.
basically i want to get more work because im bored at this job, and i need to make more money. my monthly expenses, car loan, insurance, phone, gas, food, etc, comes to around 1000 a month. working at the shop brings me about that. i dont want to live that tight...
so here it is... when i sell my Z28 i will owe my dad money so i will have roughly $3000 left over (assuming i sell it for no less than $5000).
should i...
stay where im working now and just leave this $3000 in the bank to help me out every month when it gets tight and hope i eventually get offered the opportunity i accepted the job for 6 months ago.
find a new job and spend half of this $3000 on repainting my trans am which i REALLY want to do, but i dont know how promising my new job would be, i might not get the pay and/or hours i need.

Find a new job, being unhappy and poor when you don't have to be is never an option for me. i quit my job and found a better one, im already saving for another 1st gen. Get out while you can, if you asked for a raise and they falt out told you no, i say **** em'. especially if you're working more and making less money.

work at the tire shop, you can get pretty good experience there (most do some mechanical repair also) you are getting screwed at what your making it's less than minimum wage ( over 40 hours your supposed to get time and a half for ot)

well today i went by big o tires and then jiffy lube. the manager at big o recognized me and i was also still wearing my shop uniform so he gave me an app and said he'd set me up with something as he winked. jiffy lube manager said he can start me monday full time at $7 an hour.
so which one? i want the tire place more. work my muscles
