I'd hate to have this duck watch over me.

Yes it would, you would see just the tip of the duck's head. The chromed bumper would reflect much to the same effect as a convenience store security mirror (one of those big rounded ones you see in 7-11).

You should be able to see from the pics remaining the following: There are 2 grates, each has a width of 6 full slots. The duck's head is over the far grate approximately 2 slots from our end of the grate, and 4 slots from the far end of the far grate. The bumper chrome is approximately one slot nearer to us than the duck's head, or about one slot from the near end of the far grate. The chrome shows most of the near grate, which is mostly out of the shot (to the bottom left). The chrome barely includes the seam between the 2 grates in the reflection.
If a string were run from the seam on the ground to the reflection of the seam on the bottom edge of the chrome, the duck's head would not intersect or interfere with that string.
The nearest 2 slots of the far grate are not included in the chrome reflection, and they never will be unless the car is moved.
If you think you see two slots of the farthest grate reflected in the chrome, and were to run a string from that point (one slot nearer us, being the position of the bumper) and the actual 2nd slot on the ground, the duck's head would also not intersect or interfere with that string.
Ergo, the duck's head should not show up in the reflection, and if it did, that would be an obvious photochop error.

Chad FTW.
