Drag racing is the only race where you "pray (sp) for the god thatnothing bad will happen to the car".

Yes, offcoarse in all other races there are brakedowns and crashes, but thay are vely small porstion (sp) of the whole race. Where as in drag, melted pistons and broken valves are very common, and are big factor in racing.

That's why I do not like drag, it is test of the car, not the driver.

I guess if the car is tuned to the ragged edge of blowing up you would have that problem... :eyes:

By the way, you totally missed the point of the thread.....Cheers.

Where in the hell did you come from. Drag racing is not a test of the car, its the test of the driver. If you don't know whats in your car, what limits it has, know what predetenation feels like, or sounds like, then you shouldn't be driving at all.

Just for your info, there are some cars that do go to their limits while drag racing, but they are usually in the 6 sec under times. Most cars that drag race, usually run on the same motor all season. Its at the end of the year when they start turning them up to get the max out of them. I also know in series like cascar, nhra and others like it, they usually bring along several engines and trannies for the events as they are more proun to blow ups then drag racing is.

Double Foken WERD!

In most cases...drag racing is all about the driver. I can agree that road racing, solo 1 and whatnot requires more hands on driving skill due to the fact that there's alot more going on, but by no means should you say that drag racing requires no to little effort in driving, cause I got news....IT DOES. Try taking a car that makes 600whp and 500ftlbs @8500rpm and youll quickly learn that you need to know how to drive.

Its easy to talk...even harder to walk.

It is always about the driver, hands down. I have seen chevettes beat cars that should have stomped all over them. I have seen total shitboxes with a good reaction time and good shifts beat others too cocky to take it seriously and their high price street machine gets beat. I have been on both sides of that and can tell you from experience, It is all about the driving. :appl: :thumbsup
