See, Alberta and particularly Calgary has a very different climate. Whereas places like Winnipeg (where I grew up) has a continental climate and it is not uncommon to see temperatures as low as -40*C during the winter months, Calgary's winter temperatures vary anywhere from +10*C to -15*C on average. So there's a lot of melting and freezing going on.

As a result, sanding the roads here is not effective. So we use pea-gravel... about the size of a peppercorn to a medium sized pebble. My windshield is cracked like a bastard as a result. Windshields are dirt cheap here, so to us, it's like changing your oil.

wow. thats a lot of money. i payed 55 bucks for my radar detector...thats enough. any more money and its easier to go the speed limit.

Buy yourself a V1 or an Escort 8500 X50. Or a Bel STi Driver if you travel where RDs are illegal.
