The Cavalier was sold in Japan as a Toyota Cavalier, and had different rear tail lights... which are actually pretty nice.

do some research...

your attempt at a funny and bashing thread has failed... nice try tho.

^ Think of the number of times you've tried to be funny by insulting a Civic or something like that in another thread... hypocrite.

BBProductions 03-17-2006 12:55 PM

cavalier is made by toyota.

Honestly the cavalier bashing is getting lame. Im not the biggest fan of the cavys or sunfires. But a stock z24 or sunfire GT is not a bad looking car at all. Has alote better looks then a civic. With proper maintence these cars hold up just fine. Of coarse the interior pieces are not of lexus quality but thats why you pay so little for them. So everyone needs to just shut the **** up and stop saying "oh a friend of mine had one and it blew up" thats a total crock. Half of you would never say this to anyone in person.

In all fairness they are not bad cars. JudgeZ24 last I heard was running 12's in his. But, stealth, with his constant bashing of everything else, on every thread on this forum, is just getting it thrown back in his face. As for ones blowing up, well, the only one I've heard of doing that was my brother in laws 4 door sunfire. Oil pump failure. Kinda strange, and it took some serious bitching to get it repaired. Only 55,000 kms on it. In the end, though, Chevy replaced the engine. No charge.
Stock Z24's, and Sunfire GT's aren't bad looking cars, but the sunfire's are useless. You can't fit a laundry basket through the trunk opening. However, the trunk is huge. Just the opening. I've got a buddy who has a nice 1992 RS 3.1l, and he loves it. It's getting a little rusty, but so what. It's 15 years old, and a daily driver. it's got over 340,000 kms on it.

lol i didnot mean to bash cavalier , to be honest i dont care enough about this car to be bashing it or the opposite. i just uneducatedly pointed out the fact that somebody said JDM CAVALIER. but now thanks to these baords i got educated on the fact there cavalier is built by toyota :bs: which is very surprising to me :thumbsdow

thanks

Are they actually built by Toyota or are they built by GM and then badged as Toyotas and shipped overseas?

sky_kid 03-18-2006 04:21 PM

Built by GM and shipped, if Toyota built some Cavaliers and all the bodypanel gap dissapeared Oshawa would have some 'splainin to do.

For that matter a Honda Fit is as much similar to an Echo as a Focus is to a Civic.

wilddog 03-18-2006 04:41 PM

Quest = Villager
Vibe=Matrix
Probe=mx-6
Firefly=swift
tracker=vitara
talon=eclipse

Its been done enough times

actually in some areas the civic gaps are comparable to a cavalier or sunfire. Toytoa echo panel gaps are of 1995 saturn quality. :lmao:

I dunno, I dont think anything can compare to the fit and finish of gm cars, nothing lines up properly. Not talking out of my ass here, take a good close look at a new impala or something, its horrible. :smilie_d0

edit: I dont just mean things like the trunk not being snug or anything like that. GM's have strange things like the top and bottom of the door will be only maybe 5mm gap, but then around the middle it will be more like 17mm. Alot of the panels just dont seem to be the right shape. Man, look at the 2000's era buick centurys, the tailights dont even come close to fitting, on the edges there is a gap of almost an inch O_o. So I dont really think its build quality, as much as design. IMHO the problem with GM, is that all the different parts on their vehicles seemed to be designed by people in different citys and at the end they all meet up, put it all together and say 'hey it looks close enough from 10 feet away' and they run with it.

WTF are you on? Most if not all New GM cars have exelent panel and door alignment. I have a 06 impala SS in my driveway. The g6 , colbalt , monte carlo and grand prix all have exelent build quality. Honda is definatley worse in alote of areas.
