jdm cavalier lights.:S

The Cavalier was sold in Japan as a Toyota Cavalier, and had different rear tail lights... which are actually pretty nice.

^ Think of the number of times you've tried to be funny by insulting a Civic or something like that in another thread... hypocrite.

Honestly the cavalier bashing is getting lame. Im not the biggest fan of the cavys or sunfires. But a stock z24 or sunfire GT is not a bad looking car at all. Has alote better looks then a civic. With proper maintence these cars hold up just fine. Of coarse the interior pieces are not of lexus quality but thats why you pay so little for them. So everyone needs to just shut the **** up and stop saying "oh a friend of mine had one and it blew up" thats a total crock. Half of you would never say this to anyone in person.

Stock Z24's, and Sunfire GT's aren't bad looking cars, but the sunfire's are useless. You can't fit a laundry basket through the trunk opening. However, the trunk is huge. Just the opening. I've got a buddy who has a nice 1992 RS 3.1l, and he loves it. It's getting a little rusty, but so what. It's 15 years old, and a daily driver. it's got over 340,000 kms on it.

Are they actually built by Toyota or are they built by GM and then badged as Toyotas and shipped overseas?

Built by GM and shipped, if Toyota built some Cavaliers and all the bodypanel gap dissapeared Oshawa would have some 'splainin to do.
For that matter a Honda Fit is as much similar to an Echo as a Focus is to a Civic.

actually in some areas the civic gaps are comparable to a cavalier or sunfire. Toytoa echo panel gaps are of 1995 saturn quality.

I dunno, I dont think anything can compare to the fit and finish of gm cars, nothing lines up properly. Not talking out of my *** here, take a good close look at a new impala or something, its horrible.
edit: I dont just mean things like the trunk not being snug or anything like that. GM's have strange things like the top and bottom of the door will be only maybe 5mm gap, but then around the middle it will be more like 17mm. Alot of the panels just dont seem to be the right shape. Man, look at the 2000's era buick centurys, the tailights dont even come close to fitting, on the edges there is a gap of almost an inch O_o. So I dont really think its build quality, as much as design. IMHO the problem with GM, is that all the different parts on their vehicles seemed to be designed by people in different citys and at the end they all meet up, put it all together and say 'hey it looks close enough from 10 feet away' and they run with it.

WTF are you on? Most if not all New GM cars have exelent panel and door alignment. I have a 06 impala SS in my driveway. The g6 , colbalt , monte carlo and grand prix all have exelent build quality. Honda is definatley worse in alote of areas.
