Kiss halloween goodbye in canada
Yup another dumb *** proposal. Due to our large tolerant nation we call canada. They are in the process of changing halloween to "harvest day" or somthing along the lines of that to tolerate other beleifs. This country is going to hell in a hand basket. All because it offends non believers of the holiday.

thats ridculas this is canada where our main languages are english and french if u dont speek one of thoes 2 languages then 2 bad 4 u... and we should not be changing all of our holiday to please someone else cause if they dont like it they can leave...

I say BAN ALL RELIGION !!!
That way NO ONE will be offended.. I"m offended that other religion celebrates in Canada, I"m offended that they are allowed to dress certain way, carry certain things.. I"m offended by all religion.. so BAN THEM ALL !!!
Lets all just have all civic holidays period. no easter, hunakah, christmas, Hindu, or whatever else.. I don't want to hear it.. and any mention will be shot on site

The main thing being is we canada are based on christianity. Due to our european settlers long ago. Now natives have an interesting religious side but its more less becomeing one with the earth ,etc. Which they do not force upon anyone. Its hard to argue about these things when our own government is doing it to us. Sad really. Main thing being is our governement is also full of practiceing muslums , hindu's , etc. We should be like mexico in that regard.

OMG, this is funny.....they are scared of halloween? People, we have celebrated this holiday(which in fact is not a recognized holiday cause we don't get the day off) for years upon years and now. And whatever traditions you do have for that day come from years of celebration in your family and with your friends. If ya don't like it, don't celebrate it.....become one of those JoHo's or something.......but leave MY holiday alone!

There is no way that this is ever going to happen. Halloween is too much of a money grab for too many industries, and we all know how much influence industry has over making political decisions.

One, I'm not Muslim. Two, it's obvious you're the one who hasn't looked around much.
The leaders of the most vocal groups trying to "ban" Christmas celebrations are fundamentalist Christians. Seems they don't much care for the pagan trappings associated with Christmas celebrations - the pagan Christmas tree, the pagan Yule log, the pagan exchange of gifts, and on and on it goes.
The same Christian groups denounce Easter celebrations as well, given that the traditional Easter bunny is actually yet another bit of pagan symbolism.
Still you seem to have your gaze stuck on Muslims for whatever reason. Pity, because that fixed gaze makes it impossible for you to see the rest of the things that shape our society.

Actually you are wrong. I for the most part agree with how they operate in the middle east. Shari law aside,they have their together. Your blabbing on about how christians are doing it all. Your one dumb motherfo thats for sure LOL. Everybody knows it so give it up. There have been many examples. When was the last time anybody here was confronted by someone of christian religion and was asked to say wow wow its not a x-mas tree its a holiday tree. Come to think of it.. when was the last time anyone here saw christians makeing a huge fuss over pig pictures ,stuffed toys and anything to do with pork?. The list goes on. Take off your liberal sunglasses and hand them back to your father paul martin. The mass majority of people comming to canada are not from western civilizations anymore. Which intirely rules out your method of mass chritian behavior. Come to think of it whens the last time anyone here has seen a church being built? While industrial sized mosques are popping up all over the city. DAMN those christians are to blame for it all. Better yet you seem to have a racist attitude to whites in general.
