mercedes c230 2002

so I bought this car 3 years ago over a lexus 300is..
I feel horrible about it now fo sure!.
Didn't even come with a CD player...
How CHEAP can it get??
anyways, no matter how many times I take it in and fix the CHECK ENGINE light, it always comes back, so I dont even bother now...
I just want to say, that I think the C classes are cheap and crap. and accord woulld have had better options/handling, etc... prob. can get more power out of it too for cheaper!!!
so yeah, I hope the other mercedes classes are better.
I remember the lexus was soooo much nicer inside... REAL leather, not Faux like MB, and seatd where part grey/suede leather too... better console/cd player, etc... tiptronic as well.. V6 at least instead of a lackluster V4 supercrapped engine. so yeah, that's my rant about MB low quality C class!

no, I didn't know it yet... I guess I was all excited about the MB, that a didn't let the NO CD option phase me.. However, as I settled in, I started to realize, that everything on it was cheapie....
then I had classic buyers remorse.
But, this isn't a common thing for me, as I had my old 240sx nissan, and was very happy with it. also, with my Honda Civic too...
Some BMW's I drove, I enjoyed as well...
however, I have not test driven higher class MB's, so I hope that this experience is limited to the C class standards...

There is cheap in everything.

But i would think the benz is an upgrade from the 240

haha.. ok, my 240sx was all over the road... but that was a little my fault too, as I had no snows on it ever...
same with the MB, I have these old all-season baldies, but the Traction control really helps... unless I hit that hill on dufferin and davenport... like yesterday, and almost started rolling back!!!! that's right.. back.. hehe.. but I know that's completely my 15% treaded 17" all seasons....
I just don't think it even has the power for the money spent, and for it to be a MB. I've had the Supercharger die on me, and it had hardly ANY power, which is really lame since other 2.3's can blow it away with no SC as long as mine is not working as well... Kinda defeats the Rwd purpose if it lacks kick that _should_ be there.

OH, and here's a fun topper. My Power steering cut out yesterday. I'm guessing the belt snapped in this cold weather...

btw: my 240sx was a 91. Im guessing that one above is the 89-90 style body? I really miss that hatch back. Someone slammed into me, and insurance wrote it off though... NEVER failed me.

For sure my 7-series likes throw lights all the time but it runs like a champ Its always stupid picky German car sensor crap but the car is a tank.

My mechanic says he services one with over 400,000km orig engine and tranny.

Don't complain abotu traction if you admid to running 15% all seaons. By the way, you're an idiot. Run real tires.
And you're compaining that if your SC isn't working properly, other cars will beat you?? Uh.. yeah, probably.

Anyway. I drive an '05(I think) C230 Sedan very often, and I love it...I find it has nice pickup for a 4cyl sedan/ Handles nicely (haven't really taken it through it's paces...) but overall. I really like it.

Ugh...
please read the thread more carefully, and don't just skim next time...
I didn't complain about the traction at all... I simply pointed it out, AND said it IS my fault for running 17" all seasons with no traction...
Read more closely as to what I DID actually complain to...
ugh.. some people.

Maybe you should have thought about what you were buying instead of trying to feel like a baller because you're rolling in a MB. No CD player? **** that buddy. You got what you paid for it sounds like (a brand name, nothing else).

I wasn't buying it to be a baller...
I was buying it to have some comfort, quality, and luxury..
after driving semi boxes all my life, I thought it would be a nice change..
but now I realize I am more of a practical guy than what you'd call a "baller"...
I wanted something semi sporty, not TOO sporty where it would draw too much attention...
and I thought this would be a nice balance with some EXPECTED options in an 02 model...
I do like the handling in the summer, and it is a comfortable ride.
But like I said, over-all, these "C" classes seem to feel like a cheap-out on MB's part. I did get what I paid for apparently... The MB symbol, and that's about it. I thought they were more than that, and handle their products with respect to their S and E classes to maintain pride.

and you couldnt spot that out at the dealership?
before you dropped the down payment and left?

i hope it teaches you to do your homework next time to take few cars in consideration
don't just limit yourself to the C class and Is 300,there is plenty other cars A4 9-3
CTS..

and keep in mind your opinion is very biased...sure you had a terrible experience with
this vehicle...but many people would have a completly different opinion i.e: C&D

thought they were more than that, and handle their products with respect to their S and E classes to maintain pride.
---------------------------------------------------------------
well last time i checked, the C,E and 07- S Class all had the same dash layout

adn the C class also had that lil dash mounted button to drop down the rear headrests..
just like big bro

I do like the CTS actually, and what you get in it...
I don't think I am trying to be biased...
I wasn't really complaining about the dash layout, just the lack of standard
features that should have come with it.. ie: CD player... Im sure the CTS, Lexus, SAAB, all came with CD players in their 02 models...
And I don't have any button to drop down headrests btw...

well i hope u realize the c230 is the basest of the base models....the base is300 came with cloth seats, the base caddy at least had a cd player but no wood trim 2.8 v6 and a 5spd stick no sunroof...so expect to get what u paid for u could of paid an extra 3-5k and
got a c240 wtih leather and stuff..but either way can't say u didnt see it coming
unless you bought the car without test driving it or even bothering to sit inside
