wow, that sucks. Hope everything works out for Arch. I'm having major computer problems myself, that's why I've not been on every night like normal. I'm at my Dad's right now, while he's at work, using his computer till I get mine fixed.

I have been advised by my lawyer to cut all ties with ebay, as they caused some big issues (sent emails to customers basically telling them I ran off with their money, so the policew were contaced, nothing came of it when I explained what happened, but it still is a big inconvienience) I still can't get email regularly, but do have internet (not fast enough to load anything though) I already had the domain name www.clarityelectronics.com so I just have to set up the store there. Thanks everyone

I had a virus (from a java game site), and it killed my c drive. I made my computer run off drive d, but all my email clients (ok both) won't load the skin, and the internet is just slow here for some reason (comcast)

pretty much what this thing does is make the hard drive read and write so much it actually will lock up, and shows the smart defect

If you know any DOS, you can fix this easily... I have a couple solutions for you if you use Windows XP..
Bootup from the Windows XP disk, and go to the Recovery Console. When you are in the command prompt select your hard drive with the virus, then type in: chksdsk. It should scan all your volumes and recover most errors. I cant promise this will fix it, but its worth a try. It has helped me many times.
My second suggestion would be to use dos, if you have a ms-dos startup disk, you can replace some files. Theres always a way to recover the files, so if what I said doesnt help, you could try running a search on google for how to recover the files. Anyways, I hope this helps.

Are you sure he tried the one off the xp cd? Sometimes you can choose to install it on your computer, and if he tried that one I can see why it didnt work.. Ive never heard of the recovery console not working from bootup.. thats quite odd.
