Moved

Well, it's been a LONG time since I've been really active on here. For that, I appologize. Life has been taking some big twists and turns lately, resulting in some interesting new directions. As most of y'all know, earlier this year I got myself a new girlfriend, she has an '02 Firebird. She lives 40 minutes away, a bit of a drive, but still worth it. Anyway, it's been about 4 months now and my parents lease was up in their new condo, so we found a house and bought it. Only bad part is the new house is 20 minutes further away... add in Michigan winter and you got a big dilemma living an hour away and driving two hours round trip for a visit potentially in the middle of a blizzard. My parents asked her if she wanted to move in so both sets of parents wouldn't have to worry about us driving back and forth, plus we'd save on gas, and she said sure. So, now my girlfriend and I are living together in our new house (with the parents), which is mighty cool. The basement is unfinished, for now, but my dad and I will be finishing the basement and building it up like an apartment for my girlfriend and I. Bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, it'll be pretty cool! The new neighborhood is great too, lots of fbodies! Even the infamous Camaro GTZ was across the street the other day!!!! I haven't done ANYTHING to my car lately, it's depressing. This winter, hopefully, I should get SOME new stuff rolling out... depends on how busy I am with building that basement. :D

For those that haven't heard of the GTZ, it's a one-of show car that's pretty popular, every now and then someone finds a picture and asks about it. Orange 98+ Camaro with a white stripe going down the center. Interior is all orange, looks really cool IMO. He's a local guy in Mi that belongs to a few clubs that I belong to, didn't know that his grandson lives across the street until yesterday when we saw it.

Anyway, just wanted to stop in and give an update to what's been going on in my life. I visit here all the time, just lurk and don't post all that much.
What's everyone been up to?

I just thought you didn't like us :(

Wow, talk about some big changes going on in your life. With your gf living with you I don't want to see any little Brian's popping out. You need that money for your car!

Sweet man, I just moved too. Good to hear everything is going well. You still going to school? What for? Cant wait to see some upcoming mods, although I dont know what else you can do haha..

Here's one of his Yellow Hot Rod Magazine Test camaro, and his GTZ is behind it. This was during Superfest 2003 (I think, I know it was in a year previous that I didn't go to, I missed out because they let everyone onto Michigan International Speedway to do laps and get photos). Here's some pics from the same Superfest of the GTZ attached below.

For the car, I still have a bunch of carbon fiber projects that I intend to have fun with. Stuff that no one has done before, I don't know we'll see. Girlfriend is a little conservative on her taste for mods, she wants to keep everything bone stock, doesn't even want to do an aftermarket headunit. Depends on how much time and energy I have while I do the basement modifications. Here's pictures of the GTZ below:

Welcome back, stranger! Glad everything is going well for you.

looks ******* sweet! So was it like a 1 of a kind edition, or did the guy just do it himself?

Best of luck with the g/f- its cool both your parents are ok with it. At least you can kinda see how see really is being around her all the time. I'm convinced that some people change once you get past the initial start in a relationship and get comfortable with each other.

I'm sure you will have lots of C/F to show off come spring time-

welcome back dude. we had threads about you while you were gone and everything lol

I agree

I think it is always a wise move to live with someone before you decide to get married.

See I think the opposite because the statics say people that don't live together have a better chance of their marrige lasting.

Then again I think what's really important is how you go into the marrige. If you go into it thinking if there's a problem you'll just get divorced then it won't last. But if you go into the marrige thinking it's for life and if there are problems you'll work through them then it'll last.

yeah, but that statistics don't take a lot of variables into consideration. Stats are always kind of shady. They say that the odds are the same if you live together with the intentions of getting married.

FORCE_FED_Z 10-02-2006 09:46 PM

I think it all boils down to how you were raised. If you came from a broken home, I bet there are stats that say you are more likely to get divorced as well. But at the same time you could say that you want to stay together to avoid putting your kids thru what you went thru. Stats are only written for the person trying to prove a point. Questionaires can also be rigged to get certain responses as well, so I never take surveys and stats very seriously.

But I agree with Chad- if you both say "I do" with intentions of remaining loyal to each other for life and work thru your problems it should last. But if you are only getting married for social status and because you think its what you are 'supposed' to do odds are you'll end up divorced. I really don't understand why so many people these days find it that hard to remain loyal and work thru problems?? or I am just old skool??
