All U Honda and Toyota guyz have to understand that there is like NO support for MX6's/Probes performance wise. I had to Build my turbo kit, and get parts from a wrecked Mazda Millenia.
If Mazda had the performance base that Honda/Toyota/Nissan tuners have there wouldn't be so much smack talked about Mazda's.
Prime example is the RX-7... The ONE car that the aftermarket world actually came out and supported.

I looked and watched that vid serveral times, but that is not a 1/4 track. That is an 1/8 mile strip. But if it is a full 1/4 strip, then it is running more then a 50shot. The car weighs around 3500lbs, the motor only produces 165hp. That at most would be a mid 14 run for that car. Now if I had a swapped out j-spec in it with the 200hp motor, it would be high 13's to low 14's. I had a civic, gutted down to about 1800lbs, full slicks with an 80 shot and the best the car could do was a 13.02 in the 1/4 even with a professional driver in it.
No, I am not saying Mazda's are slow, I do know of a miata that does low 11's on a turbo set up.

frakenprobe is a 2nd gen, so i dont know much about it. what i do know, is in that vid,yes it is a full quarter, dont know where you got the 3500lb figure, but that thing is supposed to weigh about 2100lbs... stock engine + nitrous as mentioned
sure, majority of the mx6 world is slow as , but what do you expect, mostly ricer owners, and no real aftermarket.
i dont like to preach about my setup, but theres people here who are in the know, and even a lowly mx6 can go fast if done properly.
and since you guys may have missed it the first time
im running a dohc 2.0 motor that never came to north america. n/a stock, but was originally turbo, and made for rally uses prior to being put into a few cars overseas. imo, this is probably the best non rotary engine mazda has put out, and it is powering fwd mazda's into the 9's, and has done 8's overseas in a rwd truck, amoung others.
no one has to believe it or like it. hell, more of you hating on mazda', the better. more of a surprise when you actually see it go.
keep in mind, my mx6 is not a street car, so its unlikely you will see it anywhere but a trailer or the track
besides, this thread isnt about me, so we can discuss my car when the time comes

The more custom work your car requires to mod, the better. This keeps the ricers away from your platform. Hence why everyone chooses the Honda (or even mustangs) route, its easy to get shitty quality parts and shops will do the work for them.
Let the haters hate, all the more fun when you walk them.

^ Normally I would think that you were walking home from a club because you were drunk... but since I know you drive a VW, we know that you're walking because you're car either a) caught fire... or b) blew a transmission.
VW < Mazda
