My car makes me sad

The last three weeks for my car have not been too good. First the throttle body started sticking at wot and it started overheating. I got a new throttle body and that fixed the sticking at wot and got two new thermostats (the first one didn't help) and it's not really overheating any more. That was what happened that weekend when i took it out and keep in mind i really only take my car out on the weekends. The next week my stepdad and i tried to replace the last spark plug the one under the alt but we couldn't get it We removed the alt to do that and broke the wire underneath it but he saudered it back up. Later that night the belt shredded on one edge and that kinda sucked. I took it home carefully and we replaced the belt the next day. Now it's also leaking about 4-5 fluids possibly. It's leaking quite a bit of oil and gear oil. It may be leaking brake fluid idk my brakes have a problem with stopping right now and it could be leaking coolant (saw that under the car twice) and tranny fluid (saw that under the car only one time) The rear is making alot of noise idk completely y but i'm going to get a new adj phr because i definitely need one. My rear is making alot of noise right now anyways and before i got a new tire put on it, it was swaying bad and is still moving alittle. I found out that my car doesn't have a rear sway bar but thankfully i picked one up a few weeks ago for free cuz my car was being ghey then too and i thought i might need it. I'm also going to get lca relocation brackets and i'm not sure about the rear but it's leaking alot and i hope nothing's been ruined yet i try to keep up on adding fluids.. that's my rant anyways. Some raves are that i'm done with college tomorrow and jimmy is a great seller! I bought my new tire from him and it came to my house really fast and is in like-new shape

Not to be an *** but those problem didn't just happen overnight. Why have you let everything get so bad? I would not even feel safe riding in your car.

They did kind of happen overnight.. actually all the leaks have happened within the last few weeks other than the rear and the oil leak from i guess the valve cover gaskets which weren't that bad i think another seal is looser now also though within the last two weeks. The throttle body started to stick and i replaced it right away. The overheating happened one time and then the temp continued to stay high the next time i drove it so i replaced the thermostat and alot of the coolant a few days later and hadn't driven it in the time between. I had all the coolant flushed and refilled at the beginning of last winter so it's not like the fluid was bad the thermostat just went. The brakes quite frankly DID just happen the time before the last time i drove it. The last time i drove it was to a shop. It has new pads in the front that are only three months old or so and i'm going to get the brake fluid replaced possibly tomorrow. The rear just happened too pretty much it was squeaking before under the car but i had two different ppl who are mechanically knowledgeable about cars ride in it before and they didn't think there was a problem. i'm getting the parts - the adjustable panhard rod and lca relocation brackets- tomorrow. I basically have had all this **** just keep on happening lately it's funny how a month ago the car did drive perfect other than an occasional squeak from under the car. so no i haven't not been keeping up with it and i haven't let things get this bad. I want to fix the leaks but i do let them slide kind of i'm not sure if the coolant or tranny is leaking i only saw what appeared to be reddish fluid one time within the last week and the coolant maybe just happened from putting some in so much between changing out the thermostats and then doin whatever to get any possible air in there out. I DON'T feel safe driving the car right now actually because of the brakes and the rear suspension parts that need replaced and i'm not driving it other than to get it fixed. I don't really appreciate hearing that i'm not keeping up with it when it's just one thing after another lately with this car especially in the last week and i do keep fixing all the ****. The ONLY things i've let slide were that it was squeaking under the car some and then it wasn't as stable which i figured was mostly one tire having so much more tread than the other and the leak from the engine and rear. I had the intake manifold gasket leak fixed on this car last year and it didn't leak ANYTHING over winter. After replacing the fluid in the rear it started to leak a week later and the engine started to leak again after spring had started but i wasn't in a hurry to fix them this guy i know did the intake manifold leak last year and he doesn't feel like working on it at the moment. He told me in a few weeks he could take care of them so i was going to get the leaks fixed in the near future too.

are teh mismatched tires on front or back? (one with more tread than teh other) if on the back you may have smoked the rearend that's 2 different sized tires (not by alot but enough to do damage) did teh car sit for a while? all of teh leaks shouldn't have just happened unless previous repairs were done wrong

One tire on the back had more tread than the other. They were both the same brand and size. The car did sit alot over winter. I didn't drive it very much but i did still start it just about every week. It sat outside don't know if that would do anything with the extremes in temperature. After bringing it into the garage for spring (we have a two-car garage and my stepdad uses it over winter) it started leaking oil and then my stepdad and I replaced the gear oil and that started leaking. My stepdad assures me that it's not that the cover isn't tight enough and I was arguing with him about that today. The shop told me that I pry should take it off and redo the gasket/sealant and let it sit a bit before I put fluid in when we did it we put the fluid in right after putting it back on. idk if the whole rear went like i said i took it to a shop and they don't think that my rear end is gone. If u push on the sfc's, tires, phr u can hear it squeaking and the phr will move it wasn't like that before. So i'm hoping that changing out the supsension parts in back will fix it and the rear isn't toast. Do u have any idea what's up with the brakes Arch? That i'm really confused on how it could have just gone bad like this, although the shop i went to added some brake fluid they didn't add that much. y it would just suddenly be leaking brake fluid idk but it seems to be leaking a lot of other stuff all of a sudden too so i'm not counting that out. i'm gonna have the brake fluid changed out and hope that fixes it i guess. the rotors and brake pads seem fine but i'm going to change over to hawk brake pads from the wagner thermoquiets cuz i had them before and they were better i just hadn't liked the dust.

Keep the Camaro, fix the problems now, then you'll be all set to stop babying the Camaro and drive it all week long.

you did the worst thing for a car you let it sit and started it it doesn't let the condensation evaporate and rots everything underneath could be you got water in the fluid or tehy may just need to be bled the rear end only has 4 gaskets 2 are behind the rear wheels if it leaks there the brakes will be covered in gear lube the others are the front pinion and the cover

Amen. If I had three 100% mint Camaros infront of me, and one was a tailor queen, one was a garage queen only driven "when its not raining", and a daily driver... I'd have no respect for the trailor queen or the garage queen. If you're gonna have a nice car, ENJOY IT, DRIVE IT, and respect it! I think it's more disrespectful to the car leaving it all garaged up than it is to be driving it around and showing it off! Hell, even the rain... I mean come on, there's more harmful chemicals in our drinking water than there is in the rain.

btw: that wasn't directed at anyone, and not directed at yas either Sheila, just a general rant lol.

I got my car about a year ago and i've put around 10,000 miles on it. i did end up driving it more over winter than i wanted to i pry ended up driving it around once every two weeks. most ppl said that i should start it over winter every so often so i did i never heard anything about condensation or whatever ruining things on it. i'd actually like to know more about that cuz next winter is gonna be the same story. if i still want to drive it every two weeks or whatever should i not start it unless i am gonna drive it? will that still mess things up since i'm not driving it enough? Wut can i even do about condensation when it's snowing on the car?? This was just supposed to be a rant about my car breaking lately but everyone keeps saying i've done stuff wrong or that i don't drive my car enough and i really don't want to have to defend it. Over the summer believe me i drive my car a lot. If i don't want to drive it over winter i don't know how that's a bad thing since there's so much crap on the roads that messes up cars but whatever. With my car being an inch off the ground from the air dam and the wide tires, lack of traction control and people's general inability to drive in the snow around here i don't think it's a good idea but hey what do i know winter wasn't good to my car anyway. Never had i heard before that starting the car once a week over winter makes everything leak in the summer so i had no idea this would happen in the spring. I'll get it fixed and drive it a ton till some more stuff breaks. My enjoyment driving it doesn't come from driving it in traffic everyday but cruising and using the hp on the weekends. I'm going to order an adj phr and lca relocation brackets tonight and I'm thinking about picking up a used LS1 rear end from iowa so i'm taking care of soon

every time you start your car there is condensation (ever notice cars with white smoke from teh exhaust in winter that is water) if your going to start it drive it if not change all teh fluids add some stabil to the gas and cover it up with the tires off teh ground

And does this same stuff apply if it's stored in a garage during the winter, or only if it's stored outside?
