Man,I got one of those behind my dads shop. Not near in that shape though. My mom bought it years ago,I think I was 17 was she got it.They are kinda funky looking looking but they get hella gas milage. When she quit driving she parked it and never drove it any more.I have wanted to restore it for a long time but I just can't find parts for the thing. If you find a place to get them let me know. This one is even the same color except for all the surface rust on it.Is yours a standard or an auto. The one I have is an auto.Pretty rare from what I'm told.

ours is an auto too, yeah parts are hard to find for the type 4's i guess maybe because they weren't as popular???? we have a few plans for it, my girlfriend wants to primer it black, and do some other things to it, but overall its been a great car so far.

I'll try to get some pics of this one today. It's not nearlly in that good of shape though.I loved that little car.You got one hell of a deal on it too. There is a VW repair shop in Lorena not far from where I live, the guy only works on them.He had one like new about 11 years ago up for sale and got right around 7,000.00 for it.It would look killer flat black with limo tinted windows all the way around. As far as parts go for them I could find lots of stuff for the type 3s but the type 4s are a pain.If I remember right they only made them from 72-74.The one here is a 74 type 4 wolfsburge(sp) edition.Same color blue as yours with white interior.
