There are some people that are still saying HD-DVD has a chance but I really don't understand where they are coming from.
Personally I won't be buying any player for a couple years. I'll let the prices come down while the technology goes up. Just like the DVD players. My dad bought one right when they first came out, he spent a ton and by today's standards it sucked. But it did come with divix which they thought was going to take off.

Yeah I got an email at work a little while ago saying best buy now 'recommends' blu-ray as the digital format of choice. Im sure HD is done.

yah I kinda am too although I have an HD player.. I dont really care, my movies still play, and I use it for my regular upconvert anyway, so when I want to get hi-def movies Ill just get a blue ray player when they drop. Not a huge deal.

From what I heard Toshiba will be making an annoucement next week that HD DVD is deaded.

Too bad. Now Sony can keep their Blu Ray players overpriced, like most other Sony products.
