As some of you here now, some of you do not.... I have Muscular Dystrophy. Well this weekend is the Annual National (and local) MDA Labor Day Telethon. Today I spent 8hrs at a MDA Fundraiser doing my part with volunteering my time for what all the people do for me. I feel its alittle something I can do to give back to everyone who helps me out. Each summer since 1999 I have attended MDA summer camp....for me this is a big deal because its one week in my life i dont have to be afraid to say "hey look here my legs hurt i need to just rest" one week alot of kids in wheelchairs can do ANYTHING they want. No limitations, no setbacks, no being made fun or laughed at. I have made tons and tons of life long friends through this camp. I also have worn braces on my lower legs since I was 5 years old. Ive had major surgeries. I see a specialist once a year. My family has NEVER had to pay for a thing. why is that? MDA runs solely on donations. Without the wonderful people of this world I probably wouldnt be able to walk because there is no way my family ever could have afforded all the things that have been offered to me. Researches are getting closer and closer each year to finding a cure for many types of MD. CMT the type I have has been extremely close to having ways to at least hault the development and slow down the process. Normally id never do anything like this, ask people i dont know for help with something. However, this not only helps me...it helps millions of effected people. The one thing I want more in life than anything is to know this disease wont kill me....and to be able to one day have a family and no worries of my children having this awful disease. Ever since I began thinking about starting a family in the future I said I would never have my own until this disease was cureable or at least controllable. Its a genetic disease...so the chances my children have it are obviously 50/50. I also want to know one day there is no longer a need to raise money for summer camp, but until there is no more MD i want there to be a summer camp for all the kids. Seeing them smile and laugh and have no limits is the most rewarding thing ever. Some of these kids have never walked a step, breathed their own breath, rode a bike, or ate on their own. It really is sad.

What Im asking for here, you may or may not be able to do, if you cant, i understand. If its just $1 or $5....it all adds up. Make it in honor of the healthy children you may have. or make it in honor of me...or anyone you may know with MD. The staff at MDA set my goal high for me and i have 2 days to do this, the more I raise...the more good it does. I would appreciate any help I can get....little or big. Feel free to tell anyone you know as well.

I dont know forsure about if there is a way to use paypal directly. I know you can use the account if you have a paypal card, like a creditcard.

just think every member on here could donate $1 and it all adds up quickly and does alot!!! $1 is all im asking. keep that in mind it doesnt have to be a large donation to matter.

It doesnt have to be done by paypal. it can be done by clicking the button at the bottom and sending in check or cash. I think it can also be done from your bank account.

Need to at least raise another $600 to at least meet my personal goal of $1200 by tomorrow. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE donate just $1 and help towards this goal. I have been donating to MDA since I was a little kid.I used to go door to door collecting money.I plan on going to a car show today that is donating all of it's money to MDA.

I still plan on donating at the car show,but I'm donating more to you Carri.
