With my birthday coming up my wife wants to get me another Xbox 360 game since I've been playing a lot more with the crappy weather we have here in WI in the winter.

Out of these two which should I ask for?

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
BioShock

My dad owns BioShock and I played it for about an hour and did enjoy it. I've never played oblivion but I've heard nothing but good things about it. I like the idea of a game that will take a good while to beat and I like games that draw you in them which both will do just fine.

Don't know if it'll help but here's a list of what I currently have:

Half-Life 2: The Orange Box
Need For Speed: Most Wanted
Project Gotham Racing 3
Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Assassin's Creed

Out of all these I actually like Assassin's Creed the best. I know I'm one of the few but I enjoy the ability to do whatever I want whenever I want to. Now that I've beaten it I find it even more fun to go through the cities and do whatever I want. It no longer counts agianst you when you kill the towns people so my killing spree's have really gone up.

You really need to play a grand theft auto game if you enjoy freedom that much. GTA invented that. I still want to get rainbow six: vegas, but the next game which Ive been waiting for, and bought my xbox for is GTA4.

I havent heard anything about oblivion, but bioshock's demo was really fun.

Bioshock.... But thats my biased opinion ... I've never really liked the scrolls type of game.

bioshock is great. The graphics are as good as anything I have seen (including game letdown of the year crysis)

I own Bioshock, A++ game, the graphics are insane, the gameplay pulls you in, and before you know it you've been playing for hours. By the way, there are two endings I believe (Im still in the process of beating it a 2nd time), so choose if you wish to be cruel or good in the begining

PS - Its very creepy sometimes.

I still want to get the game Condemned. Its the first game I watched on 360, its a very creepy and unusual game... But it looks fun. I need to look for that on ebay, and rainbow 6.

Yeah I was leaning more towards BioShock myself and it looks like everyone here agrees.

Sorry but I am not a fan of the GTA games at all so I won't be buying any of them.

I had Oblivian for my PC, and it was alot of fun, and took forever to beat. However I've always been a fan of RPG games. Seems to me to be a better game for the PC then a console.

Bioshock is badass though. If you have a surround system it really does a great job of using all the speakers. The sounds really make the game immersive.

You'll love Bioshock, esp if you have a surround sound system as Karp said, the sound in that game is creepy and immense.

Not trying to de-rail this thread, just didnt see a reason to make another as the fact that I think Chad has already decided.

What games should I get? I just got xbox live and havnt even had time to mess with it yet really.

I have rented / borrowed, and beaten:

Call of Duty 4 (Im buying this game already, its too good not to.)
Assassin's Creed (Such a ****** ending)

So what do you guys think I need to pick up for play with friends, or to play on xbox live? I love RPG's and shooters mostly. And as I said im already going to pick up COD4, its amazing.
