I am moving to North carolina In August. I will be there until March '09. I may get into something and stay a bit longer. Anyway. What are the Laws for Vehical Inspections, Smog Control, Ect... I will be around Moorsville. If that means anything. Ive been Disconnecting Smog stuff little by little, So I hope to god there isnt any Smog Control Laws..

I am from Winston-Salem NC. And it depends on what county you are from on what the emissions / inspections laws are, but no, there are no smog restrictions.

Emissions inspections (OBD) are 1996+, and Safety inspections (1996-) are just the usual visual inspection with no diagnostic hookup.

Some counties have safety on ALL vehicles, regardless of year.

If you're going to be this close, we should meet up sometime man! If nothing else, you should come out to one of my car club's meets. Nothing better than 30-50 Fbods in a row!

Yea, I'll Def. Be Finding the Nearest Dragstrip, And I'll prob be going to car shows, after I get i used to the area. I Live in the "Sticks" I can drive 25 miles and See nobody.. So it may take awhile to get used to the City Driving..

My car club is the biggest fbody club around.

There are a few others in the area, but the only other one (Carolina F-body) are almost all 1st and 2nd gens.

We show Autofair at Lowes Motor Speedway, both spring and fall (its an invite only car show), and G10, which is also invite only.

The nearest dragstrip to you will either be Rockingham Dragway (mine, 1/4th) or Farmington (1/8th). Not too far from you, probally a max of 30-45 mins.

The only advice I can give you about coming down here, if you find a 35 zone, DONT SPEED. Almost all of them are speedtraps, the state put them there on purpose. And yes, your car is going to get profiled, and you'll get pulled over about once a month just for licence and registration.

Is there a Strict Seat Belt Law? they just passed that law here in maine.. Starting next year they will pull you over if they notice a seat belt not being used.

Ive been Pulled over once. 3 weeks after i got my license.. My rear Plate was down.. or thats what he told me.. Every time I see a Cop car, I jump. Its like they are out to get me. I mean, look at the car I drive. Its Red.. Cop Magnet... So the slightest Wrong..... I'm gonna get nailed.

I seem to have a speeding problem.. I find myself 65 in 55's.. Damn Overdrive.. Maybe I will Drive in 3rd gear all the time...

Yes, seat belts are law. And they are cracking down on it right now. If they see you without it, you will get a ticket. There are no seatbelt warnings.
