Actually the whole planet wasn't covered in ice, it was just most of the first world countries.
Global Warming exists.
Also some scientists think that we are actually in a mid-glaciation as well and in so many thousands of years there will be another period of glaciation, but we will all be long dead. There were three different periods of glaciation that they know of, and if I rememeber correctly the last one started in Wisconsin.

Its not a myth, Ive been reading about it since I was in 5th grade as far as I can remember. So whats to stop me from saying the whole planet was covered in ice is a myth? I think that was dated so far back, there could be several scientific reasons for that.

I'm not exactly sure how they can PROVE the temp has risen over millions of years..
Proven means that its a fact without any reason to doubt it. I can prove that shoot my pistol a bullet will come out of the barrel and hit the ground. Now I am no expert by any means on the weather, but I'm not sure how anyone can PROVE temps have risen over the years...

i think global warming is a load of ****, there is no way that scientists can prove that this isnt just the normal cycle of the planet to warm and cool and then they say that people are to blame when things like valcanos put out more at one time then we do in many many years, it seems like people just want to feel like everything happens because of us when in reality we dont have as big effect on the planet as some would like to thing, just my .02

I dont know how it is down there, but I remember when I was a kid, the seasons were right on key. spring, to summer, to fall, to winter. No far from inbetweens. Do you notice that its now snowing in october? That NEVER happend in the, well we'll say 18 years, that I can remember. There was never spurts of 80 degree weather in november, never a spring-winter-spring-winter on/off going on like it has been in the past 5-6 years. I can definitly see a change, and theres no media excuse for that crap.
Also, how do you then explain the warnings against using CFCs in the atmosphere? Is that some evil plot by the government too, to keep us from using spray paint??
You can say what you want, but youre not changing my mind. I know what I read in books, I can understand diagrams, and Im pretty sure they were out of a science book, not fox news.

There is global warming, the planets average temp. has risen way to much over the past few decades to say it doesn't exist. Sure you can argue that the planets temps have changed over its entire existence, but not this much in this short of time, geologically speaking it takes 10s of thousands of years for planetary changes to occur.
Global warming is a product of the giant hole in the ozone layer which does exist. That causes more energy from the sun to get in to the atmosphere, which in turn produces more heat, a.k.a global warming. But they are also speculating as to whether or not there will be another glaciation in thousands of years.

Soon though, I am sure I will be getting a new(er) sled. But the past couple years have been crap out here as far as snow goes so its hard to justify replacing a sled thats paid for with a sled that would require payments when the winters aren't up to par.
That new Mach Z is disgusting and EXTREMELY tempting though, I don't think I could get a helmet big enough to contain my smile if I were riding one!!!

CFC's are the leading cause of ozone depletion and the hole in the ozone is not getting smaller, every text I've seen shows images of the bloody thing growing. The flourine from the cfc's bond with the ozone creating the hole.
This is the stuff I'm going to school for, I am a Geologist/Geography major.
Where I'm from we just had the warmest 8 months on record.
