those engines are a waste of money, if the swap could be done for less than 2000 then maybe it would be worth it. I can get hold of RB engines for less than 5 grand

I would expect that the more popular it is, the more shops are able to do them and the more parts available that the price drop. Back in the day the ppl who were swapping the b16s and 18s were paying way more cause of diff mounts and who knows what else. Plus it was rare for a shop to acctually have worked on that kind of a swap.
