psp or ipod?

i'm lookin for something to use to play mp3's at work.
obviously an ipod is better for this, but i can get a psp cheaper because of some gift certificates i've recieved. i know the mp3 playability isn't that great, but it works. it'd be really cool to watch videos as well.
so what would you guys reccomend?
i'm looking at a:
g3 10gig ipod
vs
sony psp
i have a 128 meg card that will work with the psp as well.

considering that you can get the "psp cheaper because of some gift certificates" and you have that card that will work, I'd say the psp.

dude, i have an ipod mini and i love it. the psp is cool for playing games and movies, but not as much an mp3 player.
a lot of places sell ipods now, usually anywhere you can get a psp you can get an ipod

the psp right now is garbage (I'm already seeing things in trade magazines about lawsuits from failure) it's really still a prototype that was brought to market a lot too soon

hmm. yeah, i've heard both really good and really bad about the psp.
another thing i'm considering is a mini disc player. i've already had one but it got ran over :S
so i'm just gonna do a bit more research and check out the psp in person and see what i think before i make a purchase

go for the PSP. My brother has one, the sound quality isn't the greatest, but the video's are awesome. Also, make sure you get the card thing if you get the PSP, cause if not, you'll only be able to hold like, 3 songs.

mini disc will be obsolete by last year only sony supports it and it has lower sound quality than the lowest quality mp3

Im almost positive there is an extended warranty for the psp no matter where you buy it. but yeah dropping that psp would suck, i dropped my ipod the day i got it. its ok though.

most of the extended warranties on those are useless since noone can fix the thing then after teh 4th time it breaks they void the warranty (that's what the lawsuit is about I believe)wait a year or 2 for the bugs to get worked out (and the price to come down to the real world)
