Road Debris; harmless, neutral or hazardous?

On rare occasions, I bring my car up to 180kmh in order to ensure it's safety in the event of a pursuit situation.

With that being said, I've come to wonder to what extent an item on the roadway may have at highway speeds in relation to vehicle travel direction. For example, what kind of driving skills are needed to correct a vehicle after it has come into the path of a matress at above average to average driving speeds?

I am a new driver and I do appreciate informal responses.
