Shocked from car battery?

Okay, Im going to school, NTI.. and the instructor is telling a story about hooking a battery to a fellows chair with jumper cables.. the fellow got a shock from hell. Please tell me how this works? Ive never been shcoked by a car battery, and if you cross the terminals like that, you gonna explode the battery. Whats your take? Ive asked a few other kids about getting shocked by a car battery, and alot say they have... and a few tell me, you cant get shocked. and I thanked them for the agreement. I'm talking about getting shocked by a battery alone. I understand HEI... you gonna jump from the shock, but thats like Million volts.. Like I said, Whats your take?

Ive been shocked by a battery and also from other metal that has been connected up to it. So yeah, I think you should get shocked.. I dont know about that story though, it does seem like that would just cross the terminals and short out the battery.

well touching any metal in the car thats grounded is like touching the negative so technically Im getting shocked by the battery.

But besides that, I have gotten a small shock hooking up the battery.

Yea it could happen.

I aint gunna lie, when I used to work for advance auto we used to put **** over the old core charge batterys people turned in, like a long wrench over bother terminals and watch the **** turn red or the terminals would melt it was pretty fun.

It can shock you, but nothing awful. However, having one explode, is not a kind experience.
