Blah blah blah Cheap - Fast - Reliable...

Many I would hate to have Mel's job, all these peasants wanting to spend pennies winding out BS stock motors, too broke to step up clutches. Then crying warranty when it doesn't hold together.

Its not cheap to go fast and does break. Get over it.

20 psi through the solstice? thats new to me. i se you figured out how to use google and the search feature, congrats. persaonally mel doesnt get a cent of my money or my friends money. ive seen the work that hes done and im not impressed. but hey, lets talk about ricks car since we're here and the fact it caught fire over there and ran like a piece of after he gave them a huge amount of cash. hows that for a great topic.

personally i wont go to tag. ive got 2 tuners that are far more capable of doing work than tag is. tag pushed a stock solstive to 20 pounds, is that what your saying? no hes gonna have issues and if he doesnt already then he will. the cavalier has a top end spark blowout condition, cause by a bad tune. now you say it isnt tagf that tuned the car. man i love how these stories get wrapped up.

go tot he j body site, ive got nothing to hide. i knwo 95% of the guys on there and when i see tha tsomeone is getting worked over by a shop and doesnt even know it it bothers me. shame that a palce like tag will take so much money from you and then just burn you in the end. cutting corners isnt what shops hsould be about. if im giving a shop thousands of my dollars i expect proper results. hey what about the integra withthe built motor they tuned that made, what, like 170 whp?

You really should start reading the post before talking . I didn't say nothing about a Solstice running 20 PSI, I said Cobalt SS. The Solstice is running 8 PSI making 311 WHP. The Cavalier was tuned at TAG on THERE DYNO by AN OUTSIDE TUNER that the OWNER requested FROM THE COBALT SS SITE.
Which Integra with the built motor made 170 Whp and what was done to it?

I'd really love to see the work done on your car and the numbers it makes ?

Show me another shop that made 690 whp out of an stock internal S2000 motor, if Mel really can't tune.

and this is with the built motor ....

Video - Tag Racecraft's RWD S2000 Honda makes 915rwhp on the dyno

sorry my mistake i was speed reading at 2 a.m after a few soda's .

any motor can make a ton of power for a little while. a tune on a stock motor will only let the motor live for so long before eventually those stock internals let go. we all know this. ive seen a 100 shot on a stock cavalier before and it lived for a while, doesnt mean they can all do that.

my setup looks completely stock under the hood. all my piping is run under the motor and it just looks like a cai running out of the tb. charge pipes were done by a local exhaust shop that i deal with. the entire setup was designed by me, the entire install of the turbo was all me. and the stock motor ran 13 psi towards the end of the season before i popped the fragile stock tranny.

and congrats to tag on the s2k numbers, nice to see a drag only car making some numbers.

oh and as for numbers, thatll come this year, last years numbers were low, 220 whp at just under 7 psi with a cracked manifold and broken downpipe stud, didnt learn about the crack until we got to the dyno for tuning and the car stopped boosting the 10 pounds i had it set to. typical manifold issues if you dont put relief cuts in the flange, which i didnt. not bad for a stock motor car with a kit i built myself.

just to add a little more to this.

1) tag had someone call the admin of this site to ask about this thread being deleted

2) those videos were posted by jim who was a part owner until nel screwed him out of money, nice guy huh

3) we know tag has butchered a ton of cars including setting one of the admins cars on fire one time. how the **** do you manage that one?

4) mel has been sued over selling used heads as new. wow the truth is getting to be quite painful at this point

5) the silver integra with the dfi and the turbo kit. You know, the automatic one. What did that kid spend there, 15+ k and what did he get for it ? did it even touch 200 whp?

6) the honda was avid racings car, they took it to another shop that cut off the front end from the firewall forward and replaced it because they didnt think that the car was safe and didnt work right.

7) what about the car they dropped off the hoist?

also the staff of this board have discussed this thread and if it was infact a bs thread with completely flawed information this thread would have been locked and deleated. but unfortunatly freedom of speech is one of my rights and i can be very vocal.

Yeah quite a rant from someone that is not directly affected by any of that... Makes me wonder what your motives are? Is it because you obviously didn't have a basic understanding of how much power to expect from a given turbo setup and where shooting expectations out like you wrote to book on it? So the thread was going away from you and you had to redeem yourself? Buddy, when you throw out there about someone's livelihood you better be able to back it ALL up on a public forum and usually that is done by it being your particular problem not HEARSAY... I'm sure that shop is going to want to chime in now to set the record straight as one guy's opinion about that doesn't directly affect him is really none of his business IMO.

BTW incase anyone is wondering I have no direct ties with that shop, I only got a dyno tune there and everything went nice and smooth.

GT.R has a spectacular aura aboutGT.R has a spectacular aura about
Hello,

I've never done business with TAG, therefore can't really comment on their performance, integrity and knowledge.

I would like to suggest if anyone has a problem with their performance, integrity or knowledge they let them know via the Telephone or In Person.

I've been away for a few days on a trip that has left me with no Internet access; therefore I could not monitor all conversations occurring on the site. 2TONE also has been away attending to a family matter that has left him with limited access to the site. I hope all parties have expressed their concerns in the previous 4 pages and will continue to voice their opinions using the Private Message feature or the Telephone.

Thank you & have a nice weekend,

GTcars
