dont have a scanner, so im typing. i made 10 runs with the check engine on and the crappy idle of a bad plug. we'll see what my tune up can do for me when i go back next week...and then maybe next month if i decide to get a pair of salad shooters and some hoosier R6s
anyway my first run of the night was one of my best:
R: .395
60': 2.546
ET: 14.874
@: 95.422 MPH
then my best of the night:
R: .206
60': 2.391
ET: 14.719
@: 97.252 MPH
and my favorite of the night, against my friends auto 98 TA:
R: .167
60': 2.555
ET: 15.002
@: 96.592 MPH
only thing that made it so sweet...i won with a MOV of .007! his trap was 14.340 @ 94.371 with a reaction of .836 so all i did was make it down the track first
my friends STS powered LS1 ran too. this guys a tool for so many reasons. before his turbo he ran a 13.9...and look at what he ran against me:
R: .265
60': 2.352
ET: 13.727
@ 107.264 MPH
3000 bucks for only .2 seconds. need i say more about why he's a tool?

Please get that tune up done. 14.7 in an M6 LT1 makes me want to cry tears of sorrow for you. Seriously. My V6 ran better. Fix that shiiit.
And STS setups are overhyped, sure they sound neat, turbo spool and all, but you've got turbo lag like a banshee.

it really depends on the track. the track i always go to isnt prepped very well when i go and its cold and idk what the elevation is but theres a lot of factors in how you run. also the 60's were looking about as good as mine. only thing i got on you caleb is about 4 MPH and about half a second. but i know what its like trying to nail down those times when the car is doing all it can and conditions just arent right. idealy caleb, you car should turn a high 13, mine a mid 13. but you cant have perfect conditions always can you. its cooler just to say you beat an LS1. thats what i do. in a few weeks tho, it wont be so cool anymore cause ill be smoking LS1s.haha

well this track is horrible. its not like pomona. they let anyone race, so crappy street tires are burned all over the place. the whole thing is old and crappy. there were cobras tonight only running mid 13s. its sad.
anyway i found the conversion for my track. my best run turns into a 14.277 @ 100.170.

His STS car has a lot more time potential in it. You newbs to drag racing only look at the times- what was his mph before the turbo? I bet it wasn't that good. MPH is more an indication of how much power is in the car. Times show how well the car is set-up and how good the driver is.
If you gained almost .5 I'm sure he would gain a lot more, esp. being boosted- which you can only test by going to see level- a conversion isn't going to tell you the true numbers.

[Vin Diesel] It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile... winning's winning. [/Vin Diesel]
Time potential is all well and good... give me a better time and you'll get my respect. Give me a high MPH and a lacklustre ET, and I'll tell you to get your sh't together.
12 second Supras running 120 MPH trap times are a good example of this.

ill say it once, street cars make terrible race cars and race cars make terrible street cars. the cars ET will all matter in the first 60'. with such a stock car like Calebs or mine or most of the ones on this site, your shift points and physical shifting wont gain you any tenths off your E/T. the place where the time hides is in the launch. if you can get outa the hole, you can get a quick E/T.

And Matt you are correct- its hard to get a good ET when your 60' times are 2.3+. Drop that down to 1.7 and obviously you are going to be at least half a second when you trip the lights. You can't have a car set-up for drag and have it handle on the street- basically you either have to excel at one or the other.

or you have a street car that rides real nice and comfty and cant get outa the hole either.lol. sad thing is, my T/A doesnt ride like no caddy down the road and it launches like a turd. o well it looks alright.

yeah i think he gained about 5-10 mph. his rear end and tires are all crappy and stock. i even beat him off the line. i had him for about the 1/8th. in fact, most cars i raced that night i had em off the line easy. i didnt spin em much yet i kept my RPM up enough not to bog. i did good.
