TomTom

I've really been thinking about buying a TomTom lately. I've always wanted a GPS and this would work great since I could move it from my car to my wife's car, etc...

I've narrowed it down to the
GO 300 - http://www.tomtom.com/products/revie...tegory=0&Lid=4
And the
GO 510 - http://www.tomtom.com/products/revie...tegory=0&Lid=4

They are both listed at the same price and to me at least the 510 seems to be the better choice. Let me know what you guys think and if I'm missing something. Also if you've ever used one please tell me what you think of them. I really just want the turn by turn directions so I don't have to worry about getting lost and can enjoy the drive more.

I have a Garmin StreetPilot i5 and I absolutely love it. No touch-screen which is especially a bonus. I hate touch-screens.

If they're both the same, then buy the one that has the features you think would be most valuable to you.

I would highly recommend avoiding touch-screens. Fingerprints + Sunlight = annoying.

I use an iPaq with iGuidance for GPS, so I'm no expert on these GPS units. I was not real impressed with TomTom's maps when I used it (previous version). It was missing roads in my area that had been around for at least 10 years. I liked everything else about it, especially the available voices. It was entertaining having Austin Powers give me directions!

Chad is going to be like that dude on that TV commercial that falls in love with his GPS. Just keep it professional.

ChadChad, I need to get to Panera..... LOL

I haven't used one but GPS is nice. Our Navigator has it built in and my wife loves it. Especially the point of intrest feature.

The headunit in my car is a 7" touchscreen. As long as you keep it clean it's not that bad.

That's what I was going to do but now I'm thinking I want something I can toss in any car I'll be driving.

Well that's because I wanted to save the money and just buy one that hooks up to a laptop but now I'm thinking I should go this route and just save the space.

Which one does he have?

Ok the 510 really seems to be the one I want but after reading through the review's tons of people have been through several of them because of defects. Basicly lots of problems. The 300 doesn't seem to have as many but it's missing features I want that the 510 has. Basicly it comes with a smaller screen, smaller memory, etc... than the 510.
Now I'm really confused and I would like to pick it up tomorrow.
I'm going to use it to get me to the different meeting points for the Speed Inc open house.
