Yeah so what? There's a 9 second Turbo Dodge, but there's probably an 8 second FWD Honda, a 500hp 1.8L Mazda MX3, and a million other fast sub compacts.

Turbo Dodges wrote a book alright, but it wasn't about sport compact tuning, it was about sport compact repair!

IMO the car that "wrote the book" on subcompact tuning has got to be the VW Beetle. Guys were modding those things while musclecars still ruled the roads. You saying that Dodge wrote the book is about as accurate as me saying that you are an intelligent person.

NOPE stop talkin about other peoples turbo dodges you goof noone cares about a turbo dodge in but idaho that runs 9 seconds. im sure if i was as cool as you and searched around on the internet for cars that arent mine that are fast i guarantee i could find a turbo mazda that runs 9's.

im just gonna throw it out there, but i`d say VW is probably the first company to push compact cars and modding them, VW beetles, and then sport hatch with the rabbits in the 70s.

hell the term "pocketrocket" is coined by Vdubbers for the rabbit. Neuspeed and ottinger being some of the first companies to mod them. Back in the early 80s or late 70s neuspeed had that thunder bunny car, with like 160whp all motor or something. Ottinger made their own 16v heads for 1.7L 8v motors, along with stroker and bores etc etc. This is all in the 70s- early80s.

Well and then of course there are VW beetles around since the wars, no one can top that.

Maybe the mini as well, thats another one that shaped compact cars, but to say dodge had any influence on compact cars is a joke :hah: not even close. They tried to COPY euro compact cars but they never got it right, all they made for years was good muscle cars, not sport compacts. :hah:
