I agree. Its not the cars but the owners of em that are to blame. Back when I was running my *****, imports were no were to be found (mainly cuz back then ppl laffed at em, told em to fukk off/get lost, didnt stand a chance against the V8's. So they went off on thier own and slowly started racing each other - thats how it became what it is today, it was mainly comprised of youngsters (who are in their 20's now) with no $$$ or experience and absloloutly no knowledge of cars - they were just imitating what they saw other ppl doing but without respect for the road, thier cars, other ppl, were/are dissorganized, and mainly just too stupid to have a licence.

We were organized, scope-ed out a road, blocked it off to other traffic, did our *****, n were gone. Sometimes it went hard core - bets in the 10's of thousands were made, tow trucks came and blocked off the 427, hundred thousand dollar cars rolled up and launched. Man I miss those days.

I don't understand why it just has to do with civics... there are street racing incidents with american muscle, its all types of cars that are out there, the reason why media attacks civics is because Fast and Furious (1-3) all concentrate mainly on imports. So the public sees it as imports / civics being the problem. I may mistaken what you mean but it seems like you are saying that american muscle era was ok to race, people knew what they were doing, they had knowledge and then imports came around and people had no idea what they were doing and they ruined the scene? From what i say, i think there was always a battle between imports and muscle and i believe they are categorized all as street racing. I also don't agree with how imports can't keep up with american muscle cause especially these days i see alot of imports beating american muscle. I respect both types and categorizes of cars but i don't think its right to put the blame nor put down either of the cultures.

Regardless if its wrong, its still going to happen no matter what the media, government, and cops do about it. Just like drugs, its still being made, people are dying but its not such a big scene since THIS IS THE BIG THING MEDIA WANTS TO BIG OUT RIGHT NOW... thats whats making their money on articles... drugs was yesterday's news... opinions, decisions, new acts all base on media....


Anyways thats my opinion of the situation and my condolences (sp) to the little girl which is very tragic.

First off this is just ridiculous! Yes the media has targetted imports and street racing. BUT we(a select few, not everyone) are giving them all the fuel they need! Take your racing to the track! If a guy pulls up beside you and wants to give it a go, be a bigger man! YOU know what your car has take it some place else!

A child is parentless now because of 2 kids who had something to prove to each other(for whatever reason) and for what?! You got something to prove measure the size of your ****ing genitals and call it a night! or again take it to the track. Not only that but the drivers them selves are terribly hurt. One is in critical condition! Im sure they have parents and friends and family as well. 60seconds and it's all friggin over.

Ya Ya, streets racers are always at fault.. u guys forget about the people with brains, and do it off of the city maint street, of coaruse not why would we, we just think about the idiots that wreck there cars on streets like young, and highway 7...oh-well

Naw - I was saying that back when I was doing most of my runs (we're talking 15+ yrs ago, so ya, imports had nada back then for the most part), and GOD knows I love all rides regardless of make /model/ etc...

All I was getting at was back then most ppl raced on the street responsibly, through the years its gotten wreckless. Many unexperienced/uneducated ppl (usually younger ppl withoughout alot of coin buying imports, plus they think its cool to do so) hit the streets and race anywhere without regard for anyone or anything else. Some however do race responsibly (as much as is possible anyways) but its the imports with the attraction on them cuz not only of the flicks but because of the drivers (usually kids - no offence to anyone). It was the same 20 yrs ago with muscle cars, cops were pulling any modified looking or sounding domestic, especially if a young person was driving it, and the ticket book came out, just as it does today. And I was'nt saying imports suck in comparrison to domestics cuz I know they dont, they are plenty fast (usually top end) but 15-20 yrs ago they were the equivilant of a moped compared to a harley.
