This kid wants a Mk2 VR6 GTI. I would have to remove parts from my POS car to make it as slow as a VR6 GTI.

VR6 power

You've got to do cams and heads on a vr6 before it's good for anything. One of my buddies swapped a vr6 into his mint 91 golf. Left it stock and it still only ran 13.96. But I've seen turboed ones run 11's. Still not very fast for a 2.8 liter DOHC v6. Best engine made by VW = 2l 16v. The vr6 in the new R32 is better especially if you take it to HPA Motorsports. Their twin turbo R32 GTi's are wicked fast.

glorified 1.8L? lol dude 2.slows are called 2.slows cause no one thinks they are fast. 115hp is plain and simple.

1.8Ts have no headgasket issues, i dont know where you found that one

1.9L TDi motors have some options but are never fast, but they can actually be peppy.

You guys had better mean the 2l 8v not the 2l 16v. The 2l 16v that came in the 90's passats and GTi's is the best gas motor VW ever made. The one that's in my Rabbit makes 370 hp and 390 ft lbs of torque at 20 psi. The reason most 2l 16v engine swaps suck is no one bothers to use the proper intake and engine management. Every one just throws the scirocco 1.8 16v intake on the 2l and expects it to perform properly. DUH!!! More displacement requires more fuel, and that's why you run 14's people. Do it properly, and your 2l 16v turbo will take out pretty well anything you like. BTW fastest e.t. on Kumho road tires 12.36. So tell me thats a 2.slow.

The VR6 is still the best motor from VW... the 16V is ghay...

Nothing replaces displacement. Nothing... The VR6 is stronger then the 16V, and will make more power pound for pound under boost. Fact.

And if you are really serious... go with a 24V VR6.
