Well Its goin to happen..
Well I have been debating for awhile about joining the army or not, today i sat down with the recruiters I did the tests, gave them all my info and singed a million papers, its just the begining now though i have to go to harrisburgh next week to take the asvab test then after than im goin in if everything goes right. As of right now im looking at starting at 4 years active duty. I know most of you think im stupid for doing this but its what I want to do. The area I live in there is not too much to offer, i want to open up all the opportunitys. Just letting you all know.

Not me!!! I want you to know I have nothing but the upmost respect for those of you that fight for this country to make and keep it free. Even though it's not all finished up thank you for willing to make this great country stay great.
You can get a lot of advancment, my next door neabor(sp) was a Marine recruiter and he just retired at 43. No where else is that heard of. I have a friend that was in the Marines and when he got out he went to college and got a 4yr degree just because it was free.

Which i plan on doing they told me that i could pick any college then they give you a laptop to take the classes that the college requires as long as you get a C average you could get your degree from that college without even stepping for on thier campus and you get to keep the lap top also so you really cant beat that.
Its not that cut and dry but yea you get a a certin amount of money per month for four years up to that amount with the gi bill. Then the laptop is just through e army u but a good deal you have to have your co's aproval for that stuff but a good deal if you ask me. Coming from the point of view of someone that just went and didnt finish school. Finish school. I wish i did. It makes things alot easier and you can get a signing bonus. Plus on top of that you can do the required stuff and come in at a higher rank up to E4 instead of just E1 which translates into more cash and respect for you when you get to your first unit. Also join for a job you like and could take to the civilian world too. Just a suggestion cause even though we need infintry you cant really walk around and shoot things when you get out. Other then that welcome to the family brother Ive been to korea, Iraq and will be going to Kuwait the begaining of next year. Its kinda of hard at times but there are alot of good benifits and good times. It really is a brotherhood. Good decision maybe ill see you around some time.
sorry for the long *** message got alot to say about my job sometimes. lol

Nice dude, good to see some other guys going in.
I don't have that much longer untill I leave for basic... I can't wait.
Out here, they'll pay 100% of my school fees If I go to a state college, which I will be going to school to get my pilot's liscence. WOOT!
Anyway, Good luck man.
