To the "it being a joke doesn't make it okay to be offensive"
Firstly, I really hope that we will one day live in a society where people can laugh at horrible things instead of do them. I will never ever hurt a child in any way. I will never hit a woman, kill a nun, eat a live duckling... you get the drift. Because I am comfortable knowing that I'm a good person, I can laugh at it.
Secondly, what offends one might not offend someone else. But even more to the point, I see no problem with being 'offensive'. The mind can't grow if it sees the same thing day after day. 1984 was offensive, so was Farenheit 451, the musical group known as The Beatles. I'm not trying to compare myself to Ray Bradbury... not in this instance anyway, but you see the point.
You know.. some people are offended by gay couples, or even interracial couples...
While I know that my joke probably didn't expand any horizons, it also shouldn't have brought forth such a reaction. It's a joke people.... if you don't like it, don't advertise it by getting in a hissy fit about it
If no one responded, it would be way down the page by now, lol
I am open minded, I am never, ever offended, and I really just enjoy my life. I don't go out of my way to **** anyone off, and I'm a generally good guy. Y'all should probably get on with your lives and not try and shut down the simple pleasures of someone else. But, as one of my simple pleasures is forum ranting, I'm willing to keep it up as long as you are!

**** kid, I never said it was okay to murder someone, I said it was okay to joke about murder. It's really not the same. Also, if you check above, I did say I'm not comparing it to the beatles, just making the point that a lot of things are offensive one minute and then tame the next.
If someone were to murder a child, they should and I hope, would be punished. I'm not sure that I'd actually be offended by it. Maybe if he said, "I'm murdering this child because **** is so ugly!" (ugh, they're going to censor my name, but it's short for richard and it's not rick) But I take no personal offense to what one man does, there's no point in it. If I did, I'd be sitting home in the fetal position crying every day because of the atrocities carried out by man since the beginning of time.
