and the reason they sell more is cos their boring cars are marketed towards an older crowd...basically the ppl with more savings, who are looking for a decent affordable, and reliable car. not a very complicated thing here. Honda can do that too, but thank god they're not. i hate even looking at Toyota dealerships, so bland and boring.

I'm jumping in on this topic a little late, but hopefully I can add informed information.
I have been to more shows in two years than anyone else on this board. I can say this with authority and confidence, unless those ing twins from superturner TV are on this board. (Those guys are ******** in real life by the way) They ing killed JGTC for me.
Anyways. The import industry is as follows:
Like all fads and trends there will always be people that get into the sport for the wrong reason; people who need to get into it because they have small dicks and are trying to compensate for something.
To be realistic we are about to enter a whole new stage to this game. The fad is dying and who and what is going to left over, are going to be the true fans of the sport. Not "checkbook tuners", not kids out in there parents ride causing . Guys that know their ; can look at a wiring harness and identify every ing clip on it by the colour of the wires. The Guys that can tell you the impedance of different injectors.
These are the guy/gals that need to be praised and respected in this industry. However I'm getting off topic, this is about Honda Bashing.
I met Shawn Carlson and Lisa kobo out in Cali, and they were telling me their story. This is what I took away from that day. They BOTH started with Hondas, because they were CHEAP, AVAILABLE, and EASY to work on.
That is the main reason that Hondas are good. There tons. There are tons of parts and information on them is easy to access.
Think of it this way. Would you do up a 1984 Audio Quattro, NOPE. ing sweet car, but 1. There is not info on the damn thing, 2. There are no parts anywhere to be found. And 3. There somewhat expensive for what you get.
THIS is why Hondas got popular and still will be popular for years to come. If Anyone asks me what car they should buy as there first car, I say Honda, right away.
HOWEVER, I f***ing hate Ricers, they give respectable people a bad rap... I hate Woodbridge, because there is no respect there. and I hate guys that don't even know how to change there ing brakes.\

if a person is buying a honda civic to go fast in a 1/4, then i would definatly tell them to rethink it all.
Not only that, but a honda civic as a first car isnt even that cheap on insurance. Infact civic si's (coupe or hatch), crx's and all those other grocery getters cost more in insurance than any of my 5L's for me... Followed by a family member of mine bought a Civic, he pays $60 more a month on a 93 DX Civic than he would have on a 93 5L Coupe...
If you like a honda civic, then sure buy one. If youre buying it to turn it into a 10 second car because you think its the best platform to get you there, then no. :thumbsup
