Ok just checking.

The regular Impreza (I didn't know they actually sold any of those) only has 165hp... right?

far north end.. you're from the area...?

yes i said impreza, swaps are cheaper then buying the actual performance car hence the reason one puts a type R engine into a non type R car.

If you were going to do a swap into an Impreza and cost was a factor, why not buy a mid 90's Impreza sedan and then swap something into that? They are much lighter then the newer Impreza and more of a sleeper... and they are cheaper. Some might say they look better, but that is personal preference.

Personally, I would have bought a mid-late 90's base Impreza and swapped something stupid into that. But then again, I like ugly *** cars (obviously).

If I was going to do a Subaru, I'd start with a Justy 4 door, and then hunt around until I found a wrecked WRX STi. Put 2 and 2 together, and....

^ ... and you've got a chassis designed for a transvere mounted inline three. It's not a direct, or easy swap. I'd probably still have my Justy if it were.

Nothing is ever that easy. But think about a 4 wheel drive Justy, with 400+ hp and somewhere around 450 ft lbs, and, well I don't even think a modded Shogun, or Nissan GTi-R would stand much of a chance.
