Talking Why German Cars are the best.

1. Japanese. eg Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru. The people that design these cars exist on mainly rice, fish, and saki. I know this is a generallization, but for the main part this is their bread and butter. These cars run well, are fairly reliable, and hold their value fairly well. In general good cars.
2. North American. eg Chevy, Ford, Dodge. The people that design these cars exist on fast food, therefore are generally overweight, lazy, and don't care about producing a quality product. These cars mirror their designers and builders. Large, overweight, lazy, and unreliable. Eg. Dodge transmissions.
3. European. eg. Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, Lotus, etc. And yes I know germany is in Europe. The people that design these cars, are in a class all themselves. They eat well, excersise regularly, and are generally in good shape. The cars are generally well built, have good reliabilty, and get good gas mileage because gas is 3 times what we pay here.

AND FINALLY,
4. German. eg Volkswagen (Audi, Porsche, Bugatti etc.), BMW, Mercedes. The people that design and build these vehicles exist on a diet that primarily consists of Beer, sauercraut, oktoberfest sausages, and chocolate. Now if that combination doesn't make for the best work environment, I can't think of a better one. Damn, they even take an entire week off in October, to spend drinking, partying, and eating sausage. And they have the best test track in the world. So there is the reason that German cars are the best.
Also, who here doesn't want a BMW, Mercedes, Porsche etc.

All European, but only one german. And it's the M class. Whoop de doo. I fully agree that the M class deserves that distinction.

That the Japanese can build a semi decent car. Actually the top 3 on that survey were japanese. 1. S2000 2. Lexus IS 300 3. Lexus RX 300

semi decent? if the top 3 cars on that list, and 7 out of the top 10 are japanese, it tells me that the cars are wayyy more that just semi decent.

Call me when they figure out how to make torque. Look at the S2000. 246 hp, and 173 ft lbs. Torque is what wins, hp at 8000 rpm doesn't win races.

so you're basing your entire argument that japanese cars are , on the fact that they dont make a lot of torque??? thats just stupid.

a jetta 1.8t makes more torque than an s2000 but its pretty clear to me how that race is gonna go...

StealthZ has a little shameless behaviour in the past
look at it this way, the honda/acuras wont win because it takes 20 seconds to do a 1/4mi because of its double digit torque (haha pos). and the german car wont even make it without pushing it because it will have an electrical short before it finishes.

LOL yeah you think? 4 door, 3500 lb car vs 2 door 2400 lb car? Jetta = family car. S2000 = sporty with good ratio tranny. Even I wouldn't touch that race. This thread was supposed to be funny, but very few people here can take a joke. Bottom line, the S2000 motor needs torque. And I'm going to leave it at that. The new one comes with a 2.4l, which almost makes 200 ft lbs.
