That is perfectly correct and its the same reason i am in this country just like many others. From that point of view i must agree with you, Canada is very sheltered from alot of bullshit that other countries have to go through. I acctually cannot name another country i'd ratehr be living in but that doesnt mean it doesnt have its flaws. ok maybe i should restate my main problem, its that that you guys take too much for granted, and at the same time you put too much trust in your govt.

As for immigration and people complaining about unfairness, well, I agree. A lot of the people from the middle east that come here, are doctors, lawyers, althoug god knows we don't need any more of those, engineers, etc. the problem is their education is not accepted, and therefore they cannot get work. So, they get pissed, and end up driving taxi's, running fast food places, or convenience stores.
One of my customers, a gentleman from I beleive Afghanistan, had a great joke for me a while back. "What do you get when you graduate from university in Afghanistan? A petro canada or macs milk in North America" I didn't know wether to laugh or run. But unfortunately it's true.
One the other hand, he at least speaks English fluently. this is not true for some of my other customers, including a Taco Bell is Mississauga. You can't understand what they are saying, and they can't understand what you are ordering. Very frustrating.
