Hi8 Sony video camera questions...
Hey guys I have a sony Hi8 video camera. Now what I want to know is how to transfer the video from the camera to my PC with the highest quality video possible? My cousin bought some thing at factory direct but the quality isnt to good.
I want something that will transfer the video into my computer with HIGH quality. Just how it looks on the lcd or when I hook it up to my tv.
So let me know guys! I need to make a video that was due in november and never got to finish!

Your Camera should have a Firewire port on it to transfer Data from the Tape to the PC.
Get a Firewire card for your PC and Then plug it in and use a Video Editing Software to transfer it from the Tape to the PC.
Just a word of Caution though. A Single Hi8 Tape contains approx 24gb of Data uncompressed.
That's a lot of room if you are doing any editing (24gb X2 if you are keeping an unedited original copy)

The Firewire connector is a very small connector and will either say 1394 on it or will have the Firewire logo, which is a Single Vertical Line going into a Couple of circles, and splitting off into two lines.
Most computer built pre 2006 don't have them, but you can get Firewire cards fairly cheap (30-40$)
