Mac's...
so I'm looking at picking up a Macbook (black 13" model) in 2-3weeks. Just want to know if anyone here has owned or used one? Going mac because its more reliable and they're great customer service.
I'll be using it mostly to edit some photos in CS3 and when I go to my friends place.
your guys opinions on the macbooks?

I have two in my household.. my dad is a graphic designer, so he's been with apple for a while, but he recently got me into it, and my powerbook is sick. I run parallels which allows me to run programs like the better messenger, or office. But you're right with the customer service... the best part overall is the plug and play ability.. no need for those damn installation cd's anymore.

ive read about them and they sound cool but i just dont like the interface. nor do i like the price. maybe i just dont wanna hve to learn how to use a computer all over again. ive used 2 macbooks and i didnt like either. thats just my personal preference. go to future shop and play with one for a bit before you commit

Mac's are sick I love working on them. The over all build quality is just really a lot better. I'm getting a Macbook soon too. The price of them sorta does suck but they last longer. I know people who are running newer versions of photoshop on the old ibook's with hardware that would make it impossible on a Windows Laptop or PC.

you can get them at canada computers for cheap...
i recently had a 15" powerbook and it was working fine until it ****ed up after 2 years of using it lol...there was one night i left the ac adaptor on my laptop overnight without SLEEP (i know stupid me) and the next morning my usb wont work and months after my screen just died on me...apple found out my motherboard was fried >.<
but that was years ago and im still thinking of getting another macbook...and hopefully it wont **** up on me again...and for the advice....get the 3 year warranty.

First off Macs are not better than PCs, they are just different. A Mac, just like a PC, is a tool and like any other tool its usefulness depends on what you intend to do with it.
I will give you an example: saying a Mac is better than a PC is like saying a car with an automatic transmission is better than a car with a manual transmission just because it is easier to drive. See my point....
Now if all you intend to do with your car is drive it to work and back then you are correct, a car with an automatic transmission is all that you need. However if you plan on racing, you may want to learn how to drive stick. And some people just like to drive manual transmission cars.
(think about it all professional racers (F1, NASCAR, Rally) all use manual transmissions.)
