i need to get something good and free onto my laptop and pc which both run vista. antivirus.com has a free scan but i think my firewall blocks it from doing what it needs to do and it wont start. so something i can download thats good and free, what do you guys suggest?

No problem.
I have been using it on both my desk top and lap top for a couple of years now and it works pretty good.
Last time I had a virus was when I was still using norton that I paid about 100 bucks for.

nortons is junk, i had it and the program got compromised a few times.

Ya me too.
The last time it was a nasty one.
I had the full version of norton and the virus blocked everything.
Had to reformat my hard drive.
Been problem free since going with avg.

i agree AVG, i have used with windows xp and vista and its great for both.

doesnt seem to hog system resources either with is good.

ive got avg on both machines and they both seem to be working out quite well so far. if they stop for any reason ill check out the other ones

spybot is ok, but isn't it just to clear out unwanted things on your computer and not a antivirus?
