Im not to sure if many of you know this or not, but the intake system is in a terrible spot for these years of cars. The air filter is right ontop of the exhaust manifold, therefore, the airbox heats up, and all you "suck" into your engine is hot air. To fix this problem, or should i say, bad design, a cold air intake system would give this vehicle better performance. All you need is to take the air box off, and clap on a filter. No piping needed.

Post with you thoughts on this design, ideas and solutions you have come up with. This was the best way i found to work, and its an amazing difference!!!!

removing the intake box and placing a filter does nothing but make more noise, it's still a hot air intake. you could buy an ice man cold air intake or you can make you own with a intake tube for a 90's chrysler 3.0l here are some how too's www.neons.org :: View topic - How To: DIY CAI 1st Gen

i use a 3l intake on my car since i'm too cheap to pay 300+ for a iceman.
if you car is a 5 speed mtx pick up a throttle body from a automatic since it's bigger 49mm vs 52mm. lots more info over at neons.org

3.0 intake works wonders, no need to reloaced the battery, just have to cut a bit of the tray off

its a tight fit tho, I had one of my neon, then I switched back to an ebay Intake with a heat filter
