so you have a 3.8?
the only problem with that is that the head gaskets are knwon for going out in those motors hence the recal by ford.

how many miles are on the engine and where are you located?

compresion?

yeah so on the 99-04 v6 will they sink up to my tranny iw ould really like to not have to change my drive train!

The 5.0 swap is easy, just get an 87-93 parts car and swap in the motor with the engine harness and computer. If you're good with wiring you can make it run well. I did a budget swap for a guy a few years back and wound up running a speed density computer in a 96.....

I bought a 2000 Mustang 3.8L V6 with 167,000 miles salvaged. Major front end damage except for engine. I fixed up the body and suspension and straightened the frame. It now has 185,000 miles and there have been no problems with this engine. It's surprising with all it has gone throught being salvaged. But these 3.8L from Ford are very reliable. All i have heard was good news. ANd that head gasket thing was a recal, but only in minor circumstanes. Great engine.

my uncle and aunt have a 2004 Mustang V6 convertable together, red exterior, siver and black interior, 5 speed auto ( I think it's a 5 speed) hood scoop and spoiler, nice, they never let me drive it alone...
