Escort GT Vs. Supra
Taken from an Escort board
Ok vid is uploaded, so I hope you like.
Little bit of background, the motor in the car at time of the vid was the STOCK EGT bottom end, with the gtr head and all my other goodies, on pump gas. Boost was at 18psi, and estimated power was 340-350whp on pump gas.
Supra was a BPU (exhaust, no cat, downpipe, 20lbs boost, intake, afc) that made approx 400-420whp on pump gas
If you like the vid please vote for my car in may 2005 car of the month

Thanks for watching and give me feedback

If you think thats funny, there's a video somewhere of a Festiva demolishing a Mk3 Supra on this site somewhere...
I think people seriously underestimate Mazda... that guy was making more then 300whp on stock BP internals, which has rods that are much smaller then the rods in the B6T, and BPT-GTR engines. The Mazda B-series may not have the most recent technology, but they sure are durable. I have an Escort GT engine sitting in my garage in pieces waiting to go in if I blow up the 1.6L... Oddly enough, the Escort GT/Protege GT 1.8L engine is almost identical to the JDM BPT engine. The only differences being the compression ratio of the pistons, and the BPT head flows less. If you had a BPT turbo and manifold, and a USDM Escort GT engine, you'd make more HP then a stock JDM BPT because of the increased CR and better flowing head.
On another note... Mazda sucks.
