Gas Tank Replacement

When replacing the gas tank, sending unit, fuel lines and fuel pump make sure you flush them out with some gas before hooking the system up to the carburetor. The gas tank, sending unit, and fuel lines are coated with oil to keep them from rusting while on the shelf. This oil will cause the plugs to fail and the carb to stop-up. I put some gas in the tank conected a hose to the fuel line (at the carb) and placed the hose in a gas can then turned the car over.
Another good one..

Also for most of the fuel injected cars here, when your removing the gas tank be sure to drain the lines first, it sounds dumb but I have done it before (not drained the lines) and got a shower of gas when I disconected the lines from the tank.
